2025 Salary cap projection given to teams

I said “structure”. My point is the approach to Purdy will be it’s important to agree to a deal that allows us to do the kinds of things Burrow suggests should be done, roster-wise. Fact is SF did surround Purdy with as much talent as Hurts has and Purdy didn’t win a Super Bowl. Perhaps a contract similar to Hurts’ is appropriate. Not $60+ million AAV.
Yes but he can take 65m and they can structure it however they want. You can structure it with just about any number because there is a lot of moving you can do with cap numbers.

Meanwhile your premise on the Eagles vs the 49ers is wrong. It was significantly less than what Hurts has. The difference between the SF offense and the Eagles offense was not skill position players, though Brown Smith and Barkley are a better group of players than Aiyuk Deebo and CMC, but the cosmic difference in their OLine. The 49ers OLine was Trent Williams and 4 scrubs which generally gave them around the 20th best OLine in football whereas Eagles boast a top 2 OLine. Outside of QB, the Eagles are the most talented offensive group that has been created in the salary cap era. It is actually insane how they managed to pull that off and pair it with the defense they have. The 49ers have some very talented players but its not on the same level as what the Eagles have.

Both teams have talented rosters. Suffice to say, Brock Purdy is not going to get a bigger contract than Dak Prescott. Not from the 49ers or anyone else.

Its the NFL. Every roster is talented. The Eagles roster is on an entirely different level to the 49ers. I was not being hyperbolic when I said they have the strongest non QB roster this century, by far. The 49ers are not even in the top 10.

Meanwhile the 49ers will 100% make Brock Purdy the highest paid QB in the NFL. There is zero doubt whether they do this or not. The only question is whether they get it done early in the offseason, late in the offseason, or have to do it against the deadline next season.

No, there have been a couple of teams that have had better overall rosters. The Early PATRIOT teams and a couple of the Ravens teams.

I don’t care about other teams’ rosters. 49ers are not signing Purdy to a $60 million per year deal. And they’re a comparatively generous front office. He might exceed $50 million AAV. Forget the limit to what teams can pay. There is a limit to NFL teams’ stupidity. Jerry Jones is the ceiling in that regard.

This is another reason there is no such thing as cap hell. It Doesn't exist and teams that sold out to win were the smart ones, like Philly, and Washington. They will all have much more money to spend.

If the 9ers arent in a position to rival the Eagles roster, then why pay Purdy an extra 10%+ of the CAP? Indeed, they are one of the organizations that usually build (ala Eagles), from the trenches out. Mr Irrelevant got them to a SB, trade him and start again. This is the Dak argument, why give him more money/CAP RESOURCE when the player isnt giving a similar % improvement in performance.

You dont need to get fooled into binary concept's. Whilst there isnt a CAP HELL, each team have CAP Restricted years/Reset years. As we stand now, the Dak contract (DUE TO THE SHORT LENGTH and UNLIKELY TENDERING ANOTHER, to further restructure......everything must be paid in 2029) means we're stuck, with a QB and roster that just isnt in the same hemisphere as say the 2023.
Take the hit now (creating a Reset/CAP Hell and move on). It appears that some of the $100m Restructure CAP Deniers have this utopian ideal that we're close and have to win with Dak.....too late, that option was 2023.

Another point is that CAP Deniers, never seem to forecast the future effects.

Please please please Jerry, DO NOT RESTRUCTURE DAK! Use this opportunity to get rid of him by not extending him to create cap room. Take a 90 mile dollar cap hit this year and just eat it.

Eagles lead the league by a mile in void years in contracts, to the tune of $400 million.

49ers are 2nd at 200 million.

Like Christmas in February for big and little. Guarantee they have already calculated how much extra this mean they get to stuff in their pockets

I think it comes to whether or not the 49ers believe he is the guy that can win the SB. If the 49ers think the answer is yes, then no one will care about that extra 10%. But if the Niners are wrong, well, hindsight is 20/20 they say. The Niners also have to hope that Trent Williams stays healthy, and at age 37, that’s not a given. The Eagles took the chance signing Hurts to a contract many thought was too high a number, but he proved his doubters wrong. The Niners have to hope Purdy can do the same.
