Conor Riley on reunion with Beebe, Vaughn; blueprint for Cowboys' offensive line

The evidence is indeed hiding in plain sight, seeing as Beebe entered last year's training camp as the backup center to Brock Hoffman and still struggling at times with his snaps before putting in many hours on the homefront with his mother to sharpen that skill.

By camp's end, it was Hoffman taking the back seat, and Beebe went on to have an impressive rookie season that saw him start on 97 percent of the team's offensive snaps. In the process, he allowed only four sacks in 629 pass blocks, second to only Tyler Smith in that category as a Cowboys' starter, and he tied the two-time All-Pro left guard in allowing pressure on the quarterback just 4.5 percent of the time.

All of this in not only Beebe's first year but, again, in his first year at center and, again, in his first year as a starting center and, again, in his first year as a starting center in the NFL.

Tyler Guyton battled injury in Year 1, and his fair share of penalties, but Riley isn't concerned in the least — instead seeing plenty of upside in a player he believes is one of the more athletically gifted on the roster.

The two have already been in contact, and that tracks when considering Guyton's work ethic.

"The sky is truly the limit for a young man like that," he said of Guyton. "There is going to be a process. It's gonna be a whole lot to it. There's gonna be a lot of work that's gonna be involved with it. He and I are just getting to know one another, but he has a tremendous skill set.… I'm really excited to get to work with him."
I can honestly say this is the most excited I've been for our OL in a long time. I expect to see a noticeable difference very quickly next September. I know the quoted above is coach-speak. But it's still good to hear what he thinks about Guyton.

Can't wait to see the Cowboys new and improved running game!

Jerry is onto this season and not also wasting Parsons and Lamb.

Guyton is a young, raw prospect. To think he would make an immediate impact was foolish and shows the Jones don't know how to properly construct a roster.

I still love the draft pick, but I hate the process. We should have been more flexible on the OL last year to let Guyton develop.

Hopefully he takes his experiences from last year and grows... some guys shut down when the struggle.

C'mon, he was a rook and development is always a factor, as he needed to get to a professional status. Nothing on Jerry. Some players prove out and against team's best players.

How is it not on Jerry? It was pretty clear that Guyton was not an NFL caliber LT last season. He may get better with time, but its an absolute miss by the GM to just gift a rookie the starting spot they were not ready for. They let Tyron Smith walk instead who cost the Jets $2.9M against the cap in 2024.

Guyton wasn’t drafted to start week 1.

The issue is they had Chuma Edoga in front of him who is never healthy

in my opinion guyton showed what he is capable of week 1 vs browns all-world de myles garrett.
he handled business.
future is bright.
Except he didn't at all....Garrett was lined up on Steele the majority of the day. Altogether Garrett totaled just 13 snaps on the left side of the OL. Guyton was awful week 1 against Cleveland, and honestly was bailed out because Dak had a decent game getting the ball out at a rapid pace. NFL.com put him at just 2.59 seconds to throw in that game. PFF timed him at 2.34 seconds. I think the Cleveland game was one of the worst Guyton had this year.

Their biggest add every offseason is their first round pick and they expect that player to be an immediate impact starter.

Doesn’t work that way, let alone picking late in a so-so draft, but don’t go telling billionaire narcissists that 30 years of failure means they may not be good at this.

NO top rated draft choice is expected to work in until at least 6 games. Parcells quoted.

Completely agree. The draft is for your future, not your present.

Some players make an immediate impact, but that should be seen as an bonus, not the expectation.

Well, that was the plan… then Edoga got hurt and went to IR!
