Dak is the fourth oldest starting QB in the league

We are gonna see. Initially I would agree. But now I’m not so sure if it’s not some physical issues effecting with his head. That’s what got Michael Gallup.
I don't think it is a coincidence that all we hear from the new coaching staff is fixing the run game. If I didn't know better, I would think they have a mandate from Jerry to take the ball out of Dak's hand as much as possible. Rebuild the offense around a strong dominant running game.

seriously, cut the losses and move on.
JJ is so afraid to fail that he'll just keep clinging to what keeps him from winning.
It's truly mind boggling! The longer JJ fails the more he keeps doing what he's been doing.

It's like you say.....if he changes what he's doing, and wins....he has to admit he's been doing it wrong all these years. If he happens to get lucky...he'll say "see I TOLD YA SO!".

It's a very strange and frankly insane way to run the most valuable sports franchise in the world ever.

Well I’m 40 years old and I certainly remember the horrid years after Aikman if that’s the era you’re referring to.

My point isnt about his age as it stands, it’s about time wasted and more of the same.
....then we're counting 30 years of futility, frustration, shattered hope, promise, almost, and WTHs........not about a 32-year-old starting QB getting all the blame, nor a 31-year-old backup QB getting more praise.......more about and 82-year-old GM. Really simple.

yeah, let's hate Jerry but pump up a loser QB. If quack gets rid of a few more Coaches, and coordinators it will be Super Bowl Alley for us. lmao, pitful crap. you could put quack on the eagles team and they aint winning crap with this choking poc. smh.......

Which of the 32 NFL teams is not interested in a “dominant running game”? If Jerry had to tell his coaching staff to improve the run game signing any of them was a bigger mistake than signing Dak. You’re right. You don’t “know better”.

I don’t know if anyone else mentioned this, but Dak is also the only one over 30 still with his initial team. That would also include Rodgers and Russ and Flacco and Jameis if any of them manage to get a starting job in 2025.

The last teams to draft/UDFA a QB and maintain his incumbency until at least age 32 while not making a SB is… San Diego with Phillip Rivers and then Dallas again with Tony Romo. Only other Salary Cap era one I could find is David Garrard who was cut after age 32 season. So if Dak makes it 1 more year then it’s just him, Rivers, and Romo.

so you're saying the Cowboys are lucky to still have the biggest choker on the team? I like that

So what does that have to do with anything. I mean I know it does...but want your take on what it means.

Sneaky good piece of information. Thanks!

Though I think Stafford is another that qualifies. He was 32 at the end of his last season with the Lions.

That said, I think the takeaway is still there. Teams usually don't give QBs this long if they're not successful.

Cowboys are more loyal to their home grown players than just about any team in the league. We’ve all talked about this before, but no stat shows it more than this one.

I don’t think the story here is that they haven’t made a SB/had playoff success in awhile, it’s that this specific attribute has no bearing on their relationship with their QBs.

Not just age, look at how few starting QBs aren't round 1 draft picks! That's eye popping.
Good point. Only Dak and Purdy are beyond the 2nd round. And honestly, Carr and Geno won’t be starters much longer. That leaves only Hurts and all 1st rounders.
