Do you think Philadelphia is becoming America's Team?

Nah, the Eagles aren't hated like the Cowboys, so until ppl watch their games just to hate them, no.
 
Also you have to admit they seem to have fans everywhere. I can count how many times I'll click over to one of their games and it literally sounds like a home game judging by the crowd, but they are away.

Nicknames don't get stripped or transferred. Are Orange crush, Fearsome foursome, and Purple people eaters also up for grabs? It's laughable. The only reason I like our nickname is that it gets so many opponents fans' panties in a wad because of their desire for it.

It was chunks of ice from snow in the stadium that wasn’t cleared. Not batteries. And while the guy in the Santa suit, who has never had to pay for his beer in Philadelphia since, was the target, the point was showing disdain for the team’s owner. After another disastrous half of football in a very bad season the fans felt like they were being mocked as if parading Santa would make up for what was a bad experience for fans.

Unlike Dallas Cowboys fans, Philadelphia Eagles fans don’t just bend over and take it.
 
The problem with everyone saying any other team is "America's Team" is they all fail to pass the "no matter what" test.

People watch the Cowboys ... no matter what. Cowboys play great? People watch. Cowboys suck? People watch.

Few people outside their home markets are going to watch an Eagles, Chiefs, 49ers, Lions or <insert-any-non-Cowboys-team-here> team if they have a losing record.

Do the Cowboys still deserve the title? After 30 years of no Super Bowl appearances that's debatable, but the reality is .. at least for now .. people tune in to watch the Cowboys.

It may be to root for them or against them, but the bottom line is people watch the Cowboys and until that changes, they will keep being America's Team.
 
Not based on what their fans did to their city after the win.

So, all the talk is just talk. The numbers, in combination with ice cold logic, speak louder.

If your franchise is this popular that, even without winning a championship in 30 years, you're still king of the hill in terms of assessed value by an independent, generally-widely-regarded source (Forbes)... this is just not even worth talking about.

The actual question worth talking about? I think I've heard others ask it, so I'm not the first...

Are the Dallas Cowboys Earth's team, not just America's...?

And, by the way, it gives me no pleasure personally to think I'm on the bandwagon with a team this immensely popular. I hate crowds, just to begin with. I'm Mr. Independent in all the ways one might imagine. I don't ordinarily align with majorities, nor pluralities in very much of my life.

I suppose this makes up for that ( :D ).
 
The moniker has never been about who's the best team. It's about eyeballs. If NE and KC couldn't overtake Dallas, Philly has no shot.

I honestly wish another team would take the handle. How much good has it done us these last nigh on thirty years? I don’t give a hang about popularity contests. Just win something of significance for a change. A popularity or best nickname contest ain’t getting it for me. F you Jerry.

Most of the people that show up in that Philadelphia stadium every Sunday aren't from Philly at all, but surrounding areas.
