His career QB rating is 84; his BEST YEAR was just over 93
He was never top five in passing stats in any year
Career completion percentage is barely 60%
his TD to INT ration is 1.5 to 1
yeah he racked up a lot of career stats but so did Vinny Testerverde who also won the same number of NFL MVP at ONE

and he was in the most passing friendly period of the NFL in history

Eli is an interesting case. I never thought he was the best QB in his division. Sometimes he downright sucked. He was however a big game slayer and had 2 amazing runs that lead to championships. Close call for me.

you do realize that the Super Bowl is only one game right? And then look at who has been super bowl MVP over the years and how many of them were only flash in the pans. WE have one of our own in Larry Brown.

look at this list and you will find names like Hines Ward and Mark Rypien and others who will never sniff the HOF.
So saying Eli deserves to be in because of two SB MVPs is a very weak argument

I know why he's in there. That game made the NFL and really began the modern Era. My dad was a Baltimore Colts fan so I grew up learning about that game and Namath. He belongs in the hof for that reason but if you look at the rest of his career he is not hof worthy. I don't care if you like Eli or not. He came up big in the playoffs and won the sb mvp. He led a team that beat the undefeated Patriots. He's not a first ballot hofer but he'll get in eventually.
