Jane Slater breaks down Cowboys' offseason moves so far 'The Insiders'

98 wins over a 10 year stretch
5 division titles
6 playoff appearances
18 pro bowl participants drafted
9 players drafted who were selected 1st or 2nd team all pro
3 rookie of the years(zeke included here)
and drafted 2 ol who are allegedly hoF bound
unfortunately, Jane, they do not. they've been led into believing falsehoods from people in your profession
It appears that you did not pay attention to what she said in that context and are trying to white knight Jerry for attention.

That is great and all but she was talking about FA and the lack of moves. Perhaps you can do one of your factoid blurbs about that.

Taking a RB at 12 is a whole lot different than taking one at 4 guys. Jeanty is a stud. If we take him get behind him and enjoy the 4-5 years of them running him into the dirt. The problem was never drafting Zeke, it was giving him his second deal at 100 million. I’d rather Jeanty than to rely on any DL they pick in the first. It NEVER works out.

we'll win more than 9 wins, this team has more than what the media is pushing people to believe. We have the OLinemen if they start the right 5 guys, we need safeties, DT, a LB, CB, but mainly we need to stay healthy and add Depth to battle injuries, but we're definitely not way off like the media is spewing
Dont fall for it. This team can contend a year from now but they need help. The OL as is wont be league average, they really need to go get another body to add. I'd also add WR and RB to the list of needs.

The idea that this team just needs to stay healthy and got unlucky a year ago just seems false to me. Yes they need to stay healthy, but even mostly healthy they got routed by New Orleans and Baltimore. They also play a lot of undersized guys on defense who can get worn down/injured often. They also dont have a very good OL that elevated injury risk for the offense. This team needs help, and it goes beyond the luck factor despite what Stephen Jones says.

It might not be a waste.
If they spend money to upgrade the OL and WR positions next month it wont be a waste. I love what Jeanty brings, but look at Saquan in NY vs in Philly. Look at Henry in Tennessee the last couple years vs Baltimore. Bringing in a top RB to a team without an offense that helps him is a waste. Its like bringing in a great QB, but giving him a bunch a JAGs to throw to. This team needs to be active early in free agency this year.

The link doesn't work for me. I get a "video is not available" error message. Does she say anything important?

Jeanty has a much better work ethic and character than Elliott.
First of all you're making assumptions because you do not know him personally I mean unless you guys have him on a red phone I mean is this your best friend I mean you hang out with this guy on a regular basis I'm sorry but I'm talking about talent and the fact that you still ran that many miles it's not news when you use a back that much they burn out faster in the NFL when they're going up against bigger faster opponents on a regular basis you can lose a running back fast so you don't want one with all the miles on them I don't care how much he works you're trying to claim he's Derek Henry show me because those guys like Terrell Owens who do nothing but live in the gym and they eat right and they are an anomaly... That's not your typical everyday NFL player period a secret Elliott had character you don't like it because he was young and went out and it was reported because he was followed around that also comes with being a superstar at a big time college and carrying your team through the college playoffs with back-to-back 1800 yards scrimmage years not one great year 2 great years at OSU which by the way you're in a bigger conference play he played against better competition they also won a national title then he comes in the NFL and has a top five all time rookie year in the NFL literally put up amazing numbers but This is why players like him and AJ literally you got too many miles on you it's a red flag I'm not saying you shouldn't take the guy I'm saying your expectations of what gonna do it for how long he's gonna do it get lowered because of his mileage..

Look man if they take him I'm not gonna be upset at #12 but I think they would be better off if they want a #1 running back in the first round of trading down into the 20s and if he still there take him but you could take one of the other guys to me they're all about on equal levels I don't care about he was a Heisman runner up it doesn't matter in the NFL I've seen Heisman players be terrible in the NFL they don't always workout and he wasn't even a Heisman player he was a runner up.
I'm not doubting his skill set, I'm just telling you there's a warning and a red flag when a man has that many yards on his legs in his upside everyone's bragging about how many tackles he breaks how much physicality he takes that is not typically good for a top 12 player if you picking him at 12 knowing he may not last three premium years like have 3 great years in the NFL and then you're back and eating another one again I'd rather have the guy who has close to equal talent and maybe even a little more speed and Henderson or Sampson that has less mileage on them and you can get two more years a great play out of him in the NFL that's, all i'm saying..

.. The Cowboys don't need to make this AJ or bust that's what I'm saying no need to reach there are some other great talent at running back in this draft is one of the deepest running back drafts they've had in awhile it would've even been better had the guys from Penn State came out they both decided to go back.

yeah, I would hate that. I definitely want Hampton, he's the best RB in this draft. I know I know everyone believes Jeanty is. Jeanty doesn't check all the boxes in my opinion, my opinion. Hampton and Jeanty, both good vision, power, strength, quick, can break tackles, speed(but Hampton is faster, way than Jeanty, more powerful, and he's very sudden). Here's the difference Hampton is a better receiver and pass blocker, not as many carries and played against way better defenses than Jeanty. I'll take Jeanty all day long but if both are there at 12, I say take Hampton over Jeanty, now if that Arizona WR is there I say take him over both RBs, there are too many other good RBs left in this draft.
If both of those guys are gone and the WR, I say take Henderson or better yet trade back for more picks. Johnson and Harvey, Devin Neal, Judkins, .
if we trade back we may can get 2 in this draft
exactly that's the point I'm bringing maybe you move out of 12 if a running back is your target in the first round and you get one of the other ones in the 20s but you pick up some extra picks and yes it leaves you open in the 5th or 6th round to pick up a guy like blue and now you have two young backs I'm just saying that off the top of my head the guys are gonna fall into the 5th and 6th round that still have a lot of talent running back you can get 2 for one...

Well one of us is in for a scare cuz my biggest fear is that they'll take an RB or WR with the first pick. OL or DL for me please!
Couldn't be more on target while building a better team. Either grab some one on defense or stick with both offensive and defensive linemen. Get that top shelf and sign some outside special skills players in free agency.

They hired an offensive-minded head coach, so I believe they'll prioritize that side of the ball.

As for the 'draft Jeanty' talk.....as a Jeanty fan, I'm torn. Of course, I’d love to see him on my favorite team, but at the same time, I don’t want him stuck in football purgatory.

Like a fine wine she gets better with age.
Oh my god.

You are drunk or on drugs?

What an old trout. Grim. Outside and inside.

overweening bleeched teeth and botoxed upper lips look ridiculous cheap. But that seems to fit the cultur over there.

Everybody tries to look f/able regardless. Instead of finding style and dignity. Poor people we all should feel pity for. And she is one of the front leaders.

Dont fall for it. This team can contend a year from now but they need help. The OL as is wont be league average, they really need to go get another body to add. I'd also add WR and RB to the list of needs.

we'll win more than 9 games. the staff for whatever reason did not put the best starting 5 lineman, on the field. we have talented linemen
