Most Super Bowl wins in history - just a reminder

? That honor still goes to Washington nfc title game or not that team has been garbage the past 33 years one great year doesn’t negate that
Wash-NCF championship, Philly 2 SB wins NY 2 SB wins, Dallas 4 wildcard wins. Yes Dallas has been the worst team in the division the last 24 years.

Despite making it to the conference title game this past season Washington has been the worst team in the division since 2000. They’ve only made the playoffs 6 times while the Cowboys have made the playoffs 10 times. Washington hadn’t won a playoff since their last SB win in 91 until 2024. This past season doesn’t make up for all the futility Washington has been through the past 24 years.

This is one of the issues with the Cowboys…living off past accomplishments that nobody in that organization had anything to do with…living in irrelevancy for 30 years and counting
You nailed it...other than Jerry....no one currently in the Cowboys front office had ANYTHING to do with those 5 Super Bowls...and Jerry did it as an OWNER (not as a builder of a coaching staff, roster, and a Lockeroom culture setter). Jimmy made it look so easy that Jerry thought he could do it. Think about it....the reality is....the people in our front office today had ZERO to do with winning...which means they've NEVER won...and they've been able to get a crack at it for 30 STRAIGHT YEARS....that does not EVER happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't say Dallas has been the worst team in the division over the last 24 years, but I would say they have been the most mediocre team.

That said, looking at the last 25 years since the year 2000.

Eagles 242-160 with a total of 20 playoff wins
Cowboys 217-187 with a total of 4 playoff wins
Giants 186-217-1 with a total of 11 playoff wins
Commanders 170-232 with a total of 3 playoff wins

Here is the issue though, and please let me know if I'm wrong...

From 1970 though 2000 (good and bad years) the cowboys record was 290-182.

I can give you the winning percentages, but what struck me funny and sad is that the cowboys actually had less losses over the previous 30 years combined vs losses over the last 25 years. Keep in mind, those previous 30 years (1970-2000) include what I would consider their worst years from 1986 through 1990 where the cowboys were actually 25-54. Ironically those were the years leading up to the cowboys sale to Jerry Jones and their worst year ever in 1989 (not including 1960, and I they were kind of bad in their first 5 years from 1960-1965) .

I was born in the 60's, didn't look at that decade to hard LOL

The issue is the last time the cowboys had any real success was under Jimmy Johnson where they went 44-36 (which included that one 1-15 season in 1989 BUT Jimmy won 7 post season games including 2 super bowls. Think about that... Jimmy had 7 playoff wins in 5 years vs 4 playoff wins over the last 25 years.

To people who remember Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson, the seasons have been a failure, but to people born in the mid 90's , perhaps the cowboys don't look so bad because they don't totally suck. Tom Landry was 250-162 even with all the bad years that he had, and that was even a higher winning percentage than Jimmy Johnson had with the team.

Old cowboy fans are kind of cursed from remember the "good years".

Give old Jerry credit were credit is due... for how they played since he bought the team, Jerry owes a big payday Bob Ryan IMO...

I’m so sick of Cowboy fans boot licking an organization that CLEARLY puts profits as it #1 priority.

Sorry, but they haven’t been worse than Washington.

I stil won't watch anything that has to do with Super Bowl XIII.

Painful even after all these years.

On a side note don't even think about playing Lynn Swan over Washington or The Catch around me

Last NFC title conference game played for Washington 2024
Last NFC title conference game played for Dallas 1995 (last year they won a Super Bowl)

AMAZING what new ownership can do :lmao:

Making it to one NFC conference game and losing doesn’t erase all the futility the past 24 years.

The Cowboys have one more playoff win and haven't made it to the conference game. Yeah, I'd say they're worse. Unless you count the name change.

I understand that.

Please see post #66 per the info I've given. It's easy to see that the Cowboys haven't been worse overall vs Washington per their record.

That said, I think we can both agree that over the last 20 years, expectations have been higher for the cowboys more so than the commanders, and ironically enough, it was last years season where Washington has gotten further in the playoffs than Dallas ever has ever gotten since 1995.

Washington could be a one year hit wonder, but if they're not, and they actually build on what they have and Dallas still has Jerry running the show at what, age 87 (? 5 years from now), it may be a race to the bottom of the NFC east between the cowboys and the giants.

I do think the commodes future at this point looks brighter only for the fact that it's all new to them and their ownership...

Who knows, next year could be the year that Jerry turns things around and goes all in to make a run at the superbowl!
