Possible. But in recent years defenses have had such little respect for the run game that the passing game suffered. If a D knows they can shut down the run with a light box your receivers are trying to get open in a crowded secondary. Consistent run game helps everyone. You have to be able to run even when they know you're gonna run and get positive yards. Even when Garrett was here, it would drive me crazy when he would say "the defense dictated that we pass on the down". How easy is it to scheme against a team that YOU can dictate when they run or pass just by showing them a certain pre-snap look. Ya think Emmitt ran against some loaded boxes? i think so.

who do you think was to blame Mike Mcarthy or someone else
 
You can try to disguise things all you want but the defense will just send more pressure in the face of Dak on key 3rd downs. I can't remember the last time I saw Dak stand up in the face of pressure and deliver a strike while getting hit. He's at the stage where he's counting money and would rather just curl up into the fetal position and go down. I can't blame him though.

100%, opposing defenses knew the Cowboys offense ran through Emmitt. Everything else complimented the run game. What's more amazing is defenses were built to stop the running game then, now offenses are built to stop the pass.
 
Words, clichés, proclamations, platitudes.....they mean nothing if the roster is inferior and possibly remaining so if 3 players take up almost 50% of the salary cap.

Lombardi, Rockne, Johnson ,Landry, Shula, and Walsh all coaching together couldn't compete with this roster nor even win the division with this roster.

Until this FO stops overrating their own players and starts utilizing FA in a meaningful way, the coaching is almost irrelevant.
 
When your QB can’t run if he wanted to, and you also tell him not to….you’re screwed…unless you have more playmaking skill players around him than you can count.

They don’t, and won’t because “we’ve got Parsons coming up.”
