News: PFT: Lane Johnson: When Kellen Moore addresses the offense you see what a genius he is

If he is such a genius why did he suck in Dallas? Is it Dak?
To be fair he didn't suck in Dallas.

We had the 2nd best offense his years here only behind KC.

His reputation was being destroyed by Dak's play against good teams though. If he didn't make the lateral move and get away from Dak he would've never got a HC chance.

“What matters to me is whenever he gets on the board and talks to us and you really see what type of genius he is,” Johnson said, via Katherine Terrell of ESPN. “So those actions speak louder than words, but he’s able to command a room and he’s a fun personality. . . . There’s a lot of depth to him and he lets, I guess, few people see it, but he takes up a room when he gets under there and is able to be a genius. So that’s how I see it.”

I listened to a recent Cowboys Break podcast, and these comments from Johnson are a little too ‘on the nose’ here.

They read as a direct rebuttal to the claims made on that show about concerns that Moore didn’t have enough presence to command a room.

The trick at the pro level is can you lead men without forcing the issue? Can you get everyone to buy in? I'm skeptical. He will need to earn it down in New Orleans. There won't be much of a honeymoon period. The front office is in shambles, the team a dumpster fire, and they need a lot of help. We about to see right away, if boy wonder is all that and a bag of chips, in short order. Let's hold off on the annointing oil.

It's the Jerry Jones hate reactions they literally anything that Jerry does is going to be wrong so they're going to pick the opposite they have 0 shred of evidence that he would've been a better choice yet we have 5 open threads just on Kelly Moore isn't that something went from dud to stud all of a sudden we will rue the day we didn't hire what van said Jerry would have been full of nepotism full of himself that he could turn Keller more into Sean McMahon much like Garrett they were calling him Garrett 2.0 they were happy when he left the chargers cut him but now because he won a Super Bowl with a loaded roster and Jerry didn't pick him of course we're getting these type of reactions this is what our fan base does.. They overreact and find everything they can to complain about that is what they do so they're gonna complain about Brian schottenheimer even though he's already has his staff assembled which is a very good staff from what I can see on paper way above our expectations but still before more even gets to New Orleans before he even puts a staff together we're calling this a mistake..

This place has sunk to an all time low full of hypocrites and Cowboys haters...
I’m so in agreement with your post, this board has sunk to complainers, whiners, crying about everything that they don’t like

So fans went on for year, and still do, about Payton.
Then they went on about Eberflus leaving
Not it will be about Moore not being hired. But when he was interviewed, they thought it was a joke.
And now they are complaining about Eberflus returning in a role they wanted him for.

The jury is still out on Moore as he becomes HC. But the fact he has rebounded after leaving Dallas would support he probably wasn’t part of the problem .

Whether he becomes a better HC than Shotty is to be determined . Moore is challenged with a bottom tier team and average QB.

But as usual the Cowboys didn’t pursue an up and coming HC. Shotty wasn’t pursued or even interviewed by another team. He was basically a convenience hire.

We’ll see if it works out but it certainly warrants the criticism and comparisons.

I’d argue it’s normal for fans to be critical of our situation and record this era. The lack of success definitely warrants the frustration and disappointment. Plenty to not like.

We will see what success he will have with Carr. I don't expect a lot.
Yep. He’s walking into a very challenging situation in NO with a botttom tier team and average QB.

If he isn’t given time to rebuild and at some point bring in or draft a heir QB apparent then his success will likely be limited .

Have a hunch Rattler will be his starter and if they start winning then that's when the Jones boys will look more like morons. Unless Shotty shows real promise.

He is not genius. But he is a very good playcaller and OC.

Just see what he can do when he is not hamstrung by a talent free NFL player who fakes to be a QB.
he won the superbowl under that condition lol.

I just want to say that when Kellen Moore took a lateral job to get away from the Cowboys because his reputation was being ruined by bad offensive play against good teams (one loser in particular hurting Moore's reputation the most) I said that within 3 years he'd be a head coach.

Here we are.
he got let go. and then fired at his next stop. then wound up w/ the best roster in the league. congrats nostradamus.

That's not on him that's a loaded team literally if you can't see it then I hate to break it to you he doesn't bring any of those players or coaches with him so no not other than what he appeared to do when all he had to do is not screw it up so yeah you can keep drooling about him but don't do it here he's an eagle he's an ex charger he's not a Dallas cowboy he has nothing to do with the Dallas Cowboys now he's no longer in the division there's no reason to talk about the dude anymore until you have a shred of evidence you have none zero..

yes, I'm gonna keep saying it stop giving and more too much credit he doesn't deserve a single strand of credit. He was with the eagles one year he didn't assemble the team he wasn't the defensive coordinator which was a bigger part of that game if you paid attention they absolutely destroyed and stopped Andy Reid's offense to a point where it allowed a fully loaded team of superstars that as long as they didn't screw it up would win the game because their defense made sure of it.. that's it if you don't see it we're not having this conversation I'm sick of it there's five threads open on a man who's done nothing in this league on his own except for get on the back of an all-in loaded Offense and just had to not screw it up.

and?..
What good is a "loaded team" without someone who knows what to do with said loaded team. Are we going to ignore instances where loaded teams have fallen flat at key moments? Hell the Cowboys have had several of those over the last few decades.

Kellen Moore commanded the room in PHI because he was given the space to do so.

That would not happen in Dallas because he'd have Jerry hovering over him, undermining Moore's words and actions

Have a hunch Rattler will be his starter and if they start winning then that's when the Jones boys will look more like morons. Unless Shotty shows real promise.
If Dallas can remain healthy they definitely have a better roster than NO. And should have more success than NO.

Moore has basically walked into situations in Dallas, LAC and Phil where he has had playoff caliber teams with Franchise QB’s.

Saints don’t really fall into this category especially if he goes with Rattler. We’ll see if he can develop a young QB instead of trying to optimize an established QB.

He parted ways with Dallas as his contract expired. He was basically a scapegoat as McCarthy was trying to save his job wanting to take over as OC and play caller.

And when Harbaugh came into LA new asst coaches were brought in.

Saying he was fired isn’t correctly stating the circumstances.

And landing in Phi was a gift no doubt. But I’d argue the fact his offenses and playcalling in Dallas and LA were successful provided him the opportunity in Phil.
