Whether you like Dak or not

I wish Dak had never been drafted by the Cowboys. He has caused more harm than good.
He has done so much damage and I warned people he was just good enough to block Dallas from having a poor season and drafting an elite QB like Mahomes, Burrow, Allen. Not to mention the knife in the back with the contracts no trade clause. He's been a freaking albatross after the first season.

Say what you want.

Jerry has more rings than Dak has playoff wins.

They both can suck, but Dak is worse.
Right, they both suck at their job. The only thing Jerry did to earn the 3 SBs was hire Jimmy Johnson. And his huge ego cost him, the Cowboys and their fans a record setting dynasty other teams are enjoying today.

We all hate Jerry, I get it.

But he brought us 3 Super Bowls. Be it dumb luck by hiring Jimmy or not. He still did it and it all happened.

Dak has brought nothing to this franchise but embassment.

Dak doesn't deserve the loyalty and respect that Cowboys fans give him.

I don't really care if you like it or not.

Facts don't care about your feelings.
Not about facts. It's about something that happened years ago. It's really the only argument left to support Jerry, and that argument is very weak. Jerry has taken 30 years to blatantly prove that he is a bottom 5 GM. Yes, facts don't care about your feelings!!!!!!

They can both suck. It's OK, we know!!!!!

What has Dak given you for you to have this much loyalty and defense for him?

How has he earned this from you?

What's the argument for Dak?

Jerry is a bottom 5 GM. And one of the reasons is he keeps extending players like Dak based on his lack of player evaluation skills and his inability to assess what it takes to build a championship roster.

I don't defend him. I'm done w/ him. Jerry is simply worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See, your agument is that Jerry won super bowls 35 years ago. Well, Dak played well back in 2016. Same thing. A bad player/FO can have a good stretch, but that does not mean they are good.

I want to move on from both.

I guess he still has fans, but I would venture not nearly as many as some think.

Let's be fair, that's another cherry picked incomplete stat just to support a spurious point about Dak. We all know Jerry's the problem and giving Dak that most recent albatross contract is one of his worst decisions.
If you want to say Jerry didn't spend in FA (yes).
However, Jerry did spend on his own and spent on extensions.
Jerry did restructure, to enable the 12-5 seasons (resulting in Daks new CAP hit equating to 70m per).
The 2025-2028 contract is a massive albatross as we're stuck with a QB that's probably going to lapse into a pocket sitter and just needs too many additional parts (both sides of the ball)...whilst having to do it on a restrictive 4 year contract (as we don't have the benefit of restructuring, into another contract).
how is that cherry picked?

how is that cherry picked?
Because it doesnt show the full extent/years of the contract, doesnt include how Dak's contract was restructured (and effects moving forward)....it's pertinent because the 12-5 years were based on 'credit card' payments. Is it an excuse for not spending - hell no, however, what's also true and why the premise that Dak isnt a main factor in the CAP, is that HE insisted of a shorter 4 year contract, which means 2029 is (now) the final year as he's played himself out of a further extension.

Finally, the 'cherry-picked' nature is that it doesnt equate Dak's performance against the value for the CAP hit......Dak does well when there's CAP available for a roster, once he hits a high CAP allocation he struggles. Therefore you cant have both (especially under such a short contract) QED - the OP is limited and indeed misleading as to Dak (and his performance) and his correlation to the CAP and spending.

More complex than showing a year with an allocation, rather than view it as part of a wider problem. the OP is too binary.

Damage wise to the franchise, Jerry has been overall far more damaging to this organization than Dak even has the potential of ever being.
This is true, but it still doesn't excuse Dak from being a sorry ace QB who didn't earn his pay
