Wittens goal is to be NFL head coach one day!

Different comparison. Jimmy had head coaching experience at the next highest level below NFL. Jason Witten has been a HC at a small private HS. Big difference.

It doesn’t take much to see JW needs some additional coaching experience at higher levels.
So, Jimmy didn't coach in the NFL? Thanks, saved me the trouble.

Didn't realize Witten wanted to be a HC in the NFL, right now, without paying his dues. Maybe someone will make him a college HC, because of his name and in about 3 or 4 years he'll be ready, like Deion

Yeah, Ranching's comment was pretty weak...Jimmy had a long history of success before becoming coach of the Cowboys.

Jimmy also won a National Championship.

Wow. Did you read the OP? The headline: “Legendary #Cowboys TE Jason Witten says his long-term goal is one day to become the Dallas’ head coach.”

Long term, but some are making it out to be, like he wants it now, with no experience...just wanted some clarity. Bty, sometimes, less experience is a good thing, mind isn't clogged with jiberish. Just be who you are, the cream will rise.

I’ll have to find the video that was posted but don’t remember him saying he specifically wanted to be the Cowboys HC. He said he would like to be an NFL HC.
Best way to get there is get on a staff and work your way up the ranks. I’d take him as a TE coach

Disinformation?! On Cowboyszone?!

Say it ain’t so…

No comparison. Witten needs to get on sn nfl staff and work his way up. He’s not going from HS cosch to nfl HC
I guess I need a sarcasm emoji for those of you that don't comprende....if you're gonna call something I post weak, reply to my comment.

I am sorry but this is a joke. Guy needs to coach somewhere other than HS. Is he even on the staff here? Did I miss something? Dan Campbell coached for a decade and moved up the ranks. Anything other than that with Witten is a joke. I want to play on the PGA tour. Can’t break 80 but hell I really want to play so why not?!?

If JWit wants to be a HC in this league, for the Cowboys or whoever, he need to start at the bottom and move up.

He has zero skins on the coaching wall right now.
Exactly. He needs to start by applying as a Offensive Assistant or Offensive quality control to any NFL team that would hire him.

If that is Witten’s plan he should have followed the paths coaches like Dan Campbell, Ditka, Vrabel, Rivera, etc. took.

Start at the NFL assistant level, and make contacts. You’re not taken seriously at the HS level, fair or not.

I think the HS job was probably more about coaching his kids. Maybe it also gave him a chance to see if he liked coaching. I love coaching my kids in baseball but I don't have any major league organizations reaching out to talk to me. I might have a few more contacts had I actually played major league baseball, though.
