Wittens goal is to be NFL head coach one day!

If that is Witten’s plan he should have followed the paths coaches like Dan Campbell, Ditka, Vrabel, Rivera, etc. took.

Start at the NFL assistant level, and make contacts. You’re not taken seriously at the HS level, fair or not.
I’m sure he will. I’d hire him as a TE coach in a heartbeat. Then you see where it goes from there. But few nfl coaches were also great players. The HC job is a thing of it’s on. Even many great OC or DC failed as a HC. So time will tell. But he will get a shot at being on a staff when he’s ready I’m sure

Best way to get there is get on a staff and work your way up the ranks. I’d take him as a TE coach
He’s nothing more than a high school football coach. He should stay in his lane. Jerry Jones has enough clowns in his circus without needing anymore.

Meh.
He has DEI written all over him.

And lad, what is this state championship? The private/rel-igious schools football circuit?
Maybe a good ole boy network hire but how would his hire have anything to do with DEI?

What’s the problem with private school football?

Jimmy coached in MS and HS...good thing he didn't listen to idiots
Name the head coaches “Jimmy” worked for as he came up through the coaching ranks. When you’re done naming them compare that to what Witten has done. Then explain why he would be an asset to any NFL team, even as a position coach…idiot.

You name them....have you ever coached? Bum Phillips, Wade, Nick, Mack all coached HS....so have many others. Name me one Madden PS 5 player that has become a HC

Jimmy worked for Johnny Majors for sure.

You guys aren't real fans if it's me that posts this late third page.

While he does need more work under a good head coach at the college or pro level, I’ll put him head up with Deion, that many on here were clamoring about not so long ago, with a lot bigger upside.

He said "One Day".. so even he thinks he's not ready yet.. c'mon peoples.

Seems to be getting a bit anti-Witts around here lately.. dunno why.

Apart from the fact that he played for about 3 seasons too many.. (many athletes do) he was a Cowboy great.. I wish him the best in whatever he wants to do.

If JWit wants to be a HC in this league, for the Cowboys or whoever, he need to start at the bottom and move up.

He has zero skins on the coaching wall right now.
Not necessarily.....we've seen Jerod Mayo get a HC job with just 5 years as just LB coach and no higher.

We also saw the same situation Antonio Pierce as he only a LB coach in the NFL for ONE year before getting the HC job.

When an owner wants someone to be their HC, the phrase "Commensurate with Experience" leaves alot of wiggle room.

If Jerry wants him, he's gonna hire him, regardless

How would you know if he can coach? If he wants to coach in nfl he will get the opportunity. Like others he will have to start as a position coach and work his way up

For those of you who may not know, private HS football in Texas is an "afterthought" (With no disrespect intended). Unlike most states the public-school talent in Texas is all over and is spread from DFW all the way down to Houston and even smaller towns have athletes, we don't need to funnel the limited talent we have into 2 or 3 private schools like practically every other state does. JW is probably winning with a deck stacked in his favor, but I admit I could be wrong.....
