Would the Jones' ever make a move like this?

Funny, I remember even before Jimmy Johnson was hired that the cowboys were generally NEVER considered the underdogs.

Cowboys were the best, and if you wanted to be the best, you had to beat the best.
Grandma told me the needy can't be greedy

Jerry's football managerial chart is like the Crisis- Rationale chart. As Jerry's financial chart climbs, his football IQ plummets.

Jerry used to be willing to write large checks. In fact, he was more willing to throw money around than pretty much any owner. The one thing he wasn't willing to do was let someone else be GM, and then he decided to stop throwing money around. I don't know if Stephen talked him into the current team philosophy or if Jerry came to the conclusion on his own, but they just decided that expensive outside free agents weren't the way to go. Despite teams like the Eagles proving that you can use free agency to supplement your drafts and low-cost players, the Joneses have stubbornly stuck to their philosophy.
This is partly due to the jones boys are not any good at picking the FA they want, and they know they arent.
This is why if they do decide to spend in FA they need to let shot and his staff pick the FA to go for, and then let the jones
boys go get them.

I don't think the Joneses pick their FAs. That's part of the reason they have Will McClay as their college and pro player personnel man. I think they essentially tell McClay their contract parameters and he goes and finds players they can get for that. Sometimes, Jerry might go off the reservation, like with trades (Lance comes to mind), but I believe McClay does the FA shopping. He's just trying to buy all the groceries with $10 in his pocket.

whenever there is a question that starts out with “Would the Jones’…”, the standard answer should always be no.
How about the fan base not get their panties in A twist about fake news this is a rumor about the possibility of what a media person who follows the team says they should do they should look into it because this would turn their team around but how about this let's put the 30 other teams on watch and let's see which of those thirty teams do this because I'm betting you can't find 5 instances of when this has happened in the last 20 years..

This almost never happens but it's funny how someone can start a post about somebody saying that if they were the owner of The Jets they should do this because it would be the answer well you know what probably a bunch of other teams would also have that benefit and they're also not going to do it but I'm going to keep watch up until September and then I'm going to keep a note to come back here and have a discussion on how you said with the Jones and I'm saying how many NFL teams have done it or would do it where you have to give up a lot of draft picks in order to steal somebody's executive or head coach show me all the examples in the last 20 years of that happening and it's very difficult, it's going to take you a long time to figure that out that most teams would never do that...

Of course this fan base would have a fake debate over false rumors over a rumor about a possible rumor and make it a real thing and make it just about Jerry well let's see who takes Howie Roseman from the eagles over the next couple years I would like to see it then we can talk about which one of those teams out of all those teams you know because when we put all 32 teams in perspective and take away three to five of them that do all in you're left with a bunch of teams like Jerry that do normal business in the NFL that's not outside the norm these are anomalies very few teams go all in get aggressive and blow up their cap they are even less likely to make a move like this but sure let's have a fake debate over a fake rumor and just make it all about Jerry without bringing in the rest of the NFL...

Well none of us know what exactly goes on or who does what.
I just know that Jerry and his boy are control freaks, and know it alls, and they like
being involved in all things, including FA and the draft.

Will and others might give them info on who to put on draft board etc, but
jones boys will be picking the players in the 1st 3 rounds.

For example Jerry wanted lamb, and when he was there, Jerry made that pick I am pretty sure.
