WR Comparison

Amari Cooper contract situation is very frustrating.. Dallas should've got this done sooner.

He has almost 100% of the leverage too.

About the only thing we could do is just waive him goodbye and move up in the draft for Lamb or Jeudy.

Dak has to have that guy though.

Should of, but they are dealing with an agent that is known to get top contracts for his guys.
Set the market for Mack, and I doubt he will take a "honest offer" from the Cowboys unless Cooper tells him to.

Slap a tag on Cooper. I know Miami got wind of the huge offer the Giants were going to throw to Vernon and they dropped the Trans tag prior to the deal, allowing them to get a comp pick. Or just slap the non exclusive tag on him, depending on Dak.

This might be the deepest draft for WR in 20 years. If ever there was a year to need a wr, this is it. The class is 5 rounds deep which means Lamb and Juedy can slip.
So we can gamble with our second round pick and still get a descent WR later.

Yeah I just don't see either guy falling to 17.. I guess it could happen but it would be a shocker.

I love this WR class but trying to sort them out is nearly impossible.

I like the USC guy.. Big fluid WR that can make the contested catch but there really is 10 or 15 starting caliber WR's.

We could easily land Henry Ruggs at 17 who might be the fastest wr in the draft or darn close to it. He was very underutilized at Bama.

I'm just pointing out the lack of perspective and outright hypocrisy of some people's opinions around here. One guy is worth paying the moon for, and the other guy is "terrible", and "washed up". Based on a difference of 10 receptions, 3000 yards, and 2 TD's.

This isn't advocating for Dez Bryant to replace Cooper before anyone gets that silly idea. But it's about pointing out the foolishness of people who try to claim that Bryant was washed up in 2017. As the only receiving threat in a Scott Linehan offense, when excuses are made all over for the RB being suspended and the QB's struggles.

If people don't like Bryant personally, that's fine. Just say that. But don't try to falsely categorize him as washed up when we're about to give Cooper a huge payday. All they succeed in doing then is looking foolish and uninformed.
I think they are all over paid. Lol. But yeah this is why I want to see him in camps. He is a few years older and had a bad injury. But he was talented enough to make me want to see how he is now.

Holy cow! It was!
:omg:

Compared to Bryant's worst season not related to injury.

I hadn't even realized that!

I think we all know that Dak needs a guy that creates a ton of separation.

We're not throwing many 50/50 balls or back shoulder throws. Dez's skill set is wasted on a QB like Dak,

He needs Amari because Amari is unreal at running routes and creating separation.

Was wondering when the cheap shot at Dak was coming.

Well when evaluating Amari Cooper you have to factor in Dak's success with and without him.

IMO, Amari Cooper is the MVP of our team because he makes our QB better and he is the 1 guy capable of an explosive play.

We go as Amari goes unfortunately.

How there wasn't at least a verbal agreement in place before they sent a 1st round pick is completely beyond me.

They were 3-5 and desperate.

They thought Linehan and Garrett were going to scheme guys open lol.

Linehan has had Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson, and Dez Bryant as his WR's and they thought that meant he could scheme players open lol.

I don't disagree that Bryant's style wasn't a perfect fit with Dak's strengths. I think that was obvious to anyone objectively watching both struggle at times in the past. But I think Prescott made a lot of throws into that tight coverage, and I think he's improved as a quarterback. And I also think that the coaching has improved dramatically as well which will help all parties involved a whole lot. As would the role and responsibilities that would now be asked of Bryant. He's not being tasked with being your #1 receiver, not even your #2 or #3, but a specialized role player.

Last I heard from the great Scott Linehan - who fans here defended for years - he interviewed with the Giants, Jags, and Panthers. Which one of them have hired him? Did his buddy Garrett even try to shoehorn him in with New York? Anyone? Anyone?

Nothing more than an opportunity. That's all.
That’s it. It may hurt his feelings if he don’t make the team but it gives us a chance at maybe adding some talent and gives him a shot to see if he still has it. He may very well realize he can’t do it anymore. Or maybe he has enough in the tank to make a run at one more season. Could you imagine this board if he comes in and provides some plays and contributes nicely and we get to the championship game and with the game on the line Dak tosses up a pass at the end and Dez makes one of those amazing one hand catches to win the game and take us to the SB. Lol.

I'm not sure what would be sweeter, the winning, or throwing it in the face of the Dez-bashing, Jason Garrett apologists?

I wouldn't say signing cooper is a given. just depends on what he's willing to accept. as for dez, there is no meat left on that bone. will there be free agent wr's on the market.

I bashed them both. glad they're both gone. one a malignancy, the other a malingerer.

Will they play for as little as Dez?
