"We only like our own players cause it makes me and Pop look super smart."

Same old, cheapskate, self-congratulatory, pat-himself-on-the-back comments every year.

The Jones family can make money, they just can't make Conference Championship and Super Bowl games without Jimmy Johnson's help or unless they buy a ticket.

the jones sure know how to go to a championship game every year. they buy themselves vip passes and watch other teams win it all and have blast doing it.

"Adds #Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence went on for months and weeks and then we got on the phone with him and it was done in 36 hours, same with Zeke. Lot of sitting and waiting."

These quotes are a bit concerning to me, shows that they have learned nothing from the Zeke & Dlaw negotiations. Putting those negotiations off hurt the cowboys, and likely didnt save the cowboys any money in doing so.

The jones pride themselves on negotiations and cap manipulation, yet they have failed more often than not over the last few years.

It sounds to me like they are going to overpay Dak and Amari by a lot, like they did with Zeke and DLaw.

Said it last year and I’ll say it again this year. If Heath is once again a week one starter you will know once again this front office isn’t concerned with winning

And I can be ok with or without locking up either player. My concern is why wait until the last minute only to cave to the player again? The price is only going up with every new contract, and every leaked piece of information about the new CBA that favors the players.

Either do it or move on, but waiting only to see these two get a combined $60m per year is all bad news.

Waiting to see the CBA has a downside too.

If future caps re going to explode, Dak’s reps are going to ask for more. They already showed this when Dallas started 3-0 and they basically upped their asking price.

Stevie really knows how to gum up a negotiation with his don't-do-things-until-it's-too-late act.

I get his negotiation technique, but it's not working.

really you know nothing about business and negotiations, The Jonses offered Dak TWO great offers and they tuned it down, it got so bad that the gap was huge they stopped talking and let the season go by.. what so the Owners would pay whatever the players wants first time just throw 40 at Dak?

they tried stop acting like this is the Jonses issues, they made offers 32/33 at around 6 and was too TEAM FRIENDY for Dak..hes feels slightly by a realistic deal wants to be the new market..SMH

hopefully what the jonses learned from the other deals is to NOT cave and give them what they wanted in the first place,, stand hard and dig in..

I agree Daks demands are insane..

Insulting billionaire owners who have been through this since 1989 acting as if they need to "learn" something is smug on your part..i believe they understand the art of negotiations especially more then you..:muttley:

Actually whoever convinced Jerrah to not change the Placekicker before he cost us 2 games and to hand the NFC East over to Philly should have been fired.

Sometimes the right decision is the most obvious.

But we blew that to heck.

Sorry for being critical of the owners who haven't had playoff success in nearly 30 years. I guess I shouldnt question anything that jerry jones does since he has been doing this since 1989. I also wont question jason garrett, marvin lewis, or rod marinelli since theyve been in the league longer than I have.

What I quoted was stephen basically saying he isnt concerned about the current FAs because they got Zeke and Dlaw done at the final hour. I'm simply pointing out those were both mistakes, dlaw put off a surgery while Zeke started the season out of shape, and they got nothing in return for two players starting the season at less than 100%.

Going to the final hour with dak and amari only to give into their demands at a hire price is the worst move they could make. I'm not sure what is wrong with that take?

Personally I would make them both take it or leave it offers. I'd rather he be here, but I would Tag and trade dak if I have to.

“very upbeat” but “we haven’t really gone into any details with any players since the end of the season. Really want to see where the CBA is.”

Wish some people on here would read this and read it again. And stop with the whole Jerry is the problem routine.

He isnt stupid enough to give the media anything to work with! Since they very well could move on from Dak. The fact they havent even talked since last Sept tells me Dak and his agent are being unreasonable!

This Dak Hater code trumps Enigma:huh:
