It was 27.5m which was the highest avg annual at the time
74.1m in guaranteed which was 2nd most at the time
48.7m fully guaranteed at signing which was 3rd most at the time

So it was top 3 contract in all areas. They did a good job of front loading it the 1st year with a 28m roster bouns which put his cap hit at 37m the 1st year. And they wouldnt have much dead money but they would have 4.2m if they cut him today, 2.8m before the 2021 season and 1.4m before the 2022 season. Thats pretty good and they did a good job of front loading it, But they did give him top avg annual and top 3 in both total guarantee and fully guarantee. The reason you think it looks good now with the total guarantee and fully guarantee is because Cousins, Ryan, Wentz, Goff, Rodgers, and Wilson have all passed him since.

The Niners rolled the dice. BUT, they did not hamstring the franchise for 4-5 years if it didn't work out. They could cut Jimmy G tomorrow and owe him nothing.

How bad was the injury at Philly? Bad enough that he couldn't hit anything against a mash unit.

"outplayed by Darnold and Trubisky"
Dak was never on the field with either one of them.

If you want to give a particular game, particular throws, have at it. I'm sure Dak missed some. Besides the Eagles and NWE, I don't recall Dak being that off target. One thing to keep in mind - the Cowboys were 4th in the league in dropped passes. Couldn't find a way to break that down, though.

Proven game accuracy = he threw them in a game, they were accurate, unlike 2017, 2018.

He was just bad against philly. Insert your excuse

He was absolutely outplayed by both Darnold and Trubisky on the same field.

If you want to take the big picture view of last year and not go into any game detail............ he was good against the bad teams and bad against the good teams. Lots of fluffed up numbers compiled in garbage time.

Yeah, bash me for acknowledging the obvious. Sorry if Jimmy G leading his team to the super bowl does't fit your Dak narrative. Maybe you should find a new pet cat.
Your obsession with Jimmy is both sad and is a big enough pet for the two of us.

"Bash you" Lol, come on now.

Jimmy G was carried to a SB. He didn't lead anything. He was dragged.

He passed for 248 YPG and threw 27 TDs...........and he had a parade of nobody's and has beens at WR. I hope Dak gets "dragged" to similar heights.

I hope so too, but let's not get down on a QB who needs a ton of help by propping up a QB that needed a ton of help.

In the end, its a team sport and the Qb always gets more credit than they might deserve. Its like Peyton Manning in 2015 or Brady in 2018. We don't discredit them even though they didn't play great football. They played well enough to not cause their team to lose and orchestrated enough offense to get the job done. Maybe Jimmy is a flash in the pan like Flacco. We don't know yet. He seems to do enough to win and does it without much help at WR.

Mostly what Dak is criticized for is not winning. If he puts up last years numbers on a 12-4 team, it a different discussion.

You can't seem to differentiate the difference a team and a single player. You put wins on one player and even suggest he was outperformed by the opposing QB.
You understand that they don't actually play against each other directly, right? In his 4 year career is among the best in wins since he entered the league. Behind like Brady.
And I don't think anyone has more passing and rushing TDs (by a QB) in their first 4 seasons.

But you keep thinking Jimmy lead the team. While in reality, he averaged 140 yards a game in the postseason and less than one TD. No help? Sanders was awesome and Kittle is great.
Meaning his running game and defense hoisted him on a throne and carried him to a SB.

Sanders was "awesome" in 2015. He's not the same player and SF got him for nothing. Kittle is the only real receiving threat.

I assume you are referring to the NYJ and Chicago games. Both Darnold and Trubisky looked like better Qbs.

The Qb always leads the team which is why Dallas was 8-8 this year.

I really don't care if you discount what Jimmy G did this year. They don't in SF........and that franchise has a much better handle on things than this one.

I LOVE IT!!! Dak getting better every year and its making some of y'all sick!

I agree, Dak has not regressed at all and has shown improvements in his game. I don't see his progression stopping at all or hitting the ceiling as some have claimed. His numbers continue to show improvement in every category

I just gave you the numbers since he's been in the league. Top 2 in wins and No one has more TDs. You choose to ignore it, I really don't care at this point.

Your still living in 2016. Look at the number the past 3 years......not so Brady-esque

I'm using ALL of his seasons. Not just ONE or Three. What are you smoking?

What he did 4 years ago is not as relevant as what he did in the 3 more recent seasons. A new contract isn't a lifetime achievement award. Its based on what the team projects a player will do in the future. So, unless there was an injury or other mitigating circumstance, you look at the most recent season first. Common sense stuff here. You following? In regard to Dak, 2019>2018>2017>2016

This makes no sense. He’s 26....how is what he did 4 years ago not relevant?
