News: PFT: Mike McCarthy convinced Dak Prescott is a fit for his offense

He is getting signed and approves it. Be glad when it’s done so they can move on from it..

What else is Mike going to say? He loses nothing by publicly touting Dak, and he would absolutely cause a media firestorm if he publicly criticized or spoke against him lol...

Knock off the personal attacks and name calling.

McC watched Prescott and Moore with this O and has some idea of where he thinks he can improve it. The O was good enough, the D and ST were not.

He has a QB that can run for a 1st when necessary and throws pretty well on the run and has a potent run game with a 2nd back that has "potential" written all over him.

He came to take this team, this team with this QB, to a higher level. He could have taken on a builder like CLE or NYG but he chose to reclaim himself with this team. He did not come to Dallas to build with a rookie QB and was quite comfortable with his QB taking over in his 4th year in GB. Prescott is only coming into his 5th year and I am intrigued to see how he can do with a better O mind at HC and his 3rd year with Moore.

Man o man, the over focus on the QB and his salary is nothing compared to this D and ST. The QB was and is not the problem.

I think he had quite a few options before signing with Dallas and if he didn't think Dak could win he would have gone elsewhere.

Again debatable. His real choices where what? At the time how many teams were looking for a HC - Dallas, NY, Carolina, Cleveland? I get NY and Carolina but who wants to go to Cleveland? Plus as far as HC-ing jobs go does it get anymore prominent than Dallas? Someone like McCarthy wants the spotlight and needs to prove himself to be the best.

I don't think McCarthy has a lot of options here considering who our backup QB is.
Dak goes down, there goes the season. They need to hire one of these veteran FA quarterbacks. Problem is, they all want to remain starters.

If the Cowboys tag Dak as many anticipate, they will get another long look at him and be better prepared to assess his worth.

He didn’t have to take the job. He said point blank that dak was a huge part of his decision.

he obviously is no idiot and knows qb’s
