Leverage, timing and talent all game into play in the negotiations. He is almost universally praised for his work and that’s rare.

He re-energized both CBS’s telecasts after Phill Simms and Jim Nance and is helping the network position themselves for the new television contracts. The league also cares about who does big games. Remember when they demanded Al Michaels do Thursday Night games over Mike Tirico.

Tony’s got star power now and the league and network know it.

good point, nance is a good partner for tony, should be a pkg deal, but chances are he wont get a raise, heck maybe eve a pay cut lol.
one thing this tells me is network tv makes many millions off ads for nfl games , or they could not afford to pay any one announcer that much money.

This makes me wonder about the companies that spend the millions to advertise on network tv. Then wonder about how stupid the ads are!
it is a crazy world.
I think if I was going to do an ad lol I would like to have jerry come on and do 30 seconds of jerry speak , with my products name flashing in the
back ground! I think that would stick jin peoples brains, they would be trying to figure out what jerry was saying, so they might not even notice
the flashing product name lol.
