There are only 34 songs in history that have been certified diamond — here they all are

Not a damn song on that list that I recognize.

Music is awful nowadays. I’d take Led Zepplin, The Beatles, Tool, Pink
Floyd... and a number of others before that list.
Lol. I was shocked to see Pink on your list. Good thing I read further. :lmao:

the kind of stuff favored by 13 year old girls, who HAVE no taste.
....and 13 year old boys do?! Since when do children have taste anyway?!

This is stupid. There are more people in the US now by far, so there's more people to sell to. You'd have to use a percentage to compare through the ages.

The latter can earn a diamond certification, the highest honor bestowed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Since the official diamond award was unveiled in 1999, it has been awarded sparingly — if a song has moved at least 10 million equivalent units by combining sales and streaming numbers, and if an artist or label requests certification.
Awful list, but keep in mind it only counts music newer than 1999.

It's the streaming numbers that skew (screw) everything up.

Yep. Relatively speaking, it shouldn't be that difficult to achieve 10 million equivalent units in a world with 7 billion people. One teenager might stream a song a thousand times.

Its just related to accessibility now compared to before.
Still kind of funny.

Certainly much easier (and less expensive) to stream a song rather than have to go to a record store (for instance) and pay for a 45.

If this one is not in the top 34 shame on you.....better yet, good grief.

Stay off my lawn!!!! lol!!!
