By being forced to use the tag on Dak instead of another player he's already hurting this team...........not really a team player or showing good leadership.
That is not correct. A tag does get superseded by a new deal, if it's in place before the start of the season. It is a place holder only because it reserves the rights of the player to that team for another season. The tag does not get superseded by the new deal.

We love trolls here....thanks for playing. If I'm Dak, I move on to a more respectful owner and front office. Cousins, Goff, and Wentz all got paid..... but Dak who's better than all of them CAN'T get paid???? We don't DESERVE Dak!!!! If this was Romo, he would have BEEN paid his rightful due. Let that sink in.
Your right. I forgot about that July deadlineactually by july 15th but same point is that tag doesn't automatically bind for that season.
Different CBA, my man.if so, how come demarcus lawrence's franchise tag isn't shown on his contract after he signed a new one?

if what you are saying is true, wouldn't we see for 2019, a flat rate of 17.1 million?
and then 5 years after that equal to his 105 million?
Correctit doesn't force anything until he signs it. dak doesn't have to sign the tag designation.
The Cowboys have placed the exclusive franchise tag on Dak Prescott, according to a source. The Cowboys’ hope is to sign Prescott to a long-term deal well before July 15 but recent talks have not gone far. Since the system has been in place, only eight quarterbacks have been tagged and only two have played under the tag the entire season: Kirk Cousins twice (2016-17) in Washington and Drew Brees in 2005 in San Diego. Next question: Will Prescott show up for offseason work without deal?

article 10 of the cba
k) Any Club designating a Franchise Player shall have until 4:00 p.m., New York time, on July 15 of the League Year (or, if July 15 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the first Monday thereafter) for which the designation takes effect to sign the player to a multiyear contract or extension. After that date, the player may sign only a one-year Player Contract with his Prior Club for that season, and such Player Contract may not be extended until after the Club’s last regular season game of that League Year.
I would think it helps you to be loved by fans when picking up endorsement deals. If I were a player, I wouldn't give a crap about being "endeared" to fickle, piker fans. Dak was the good guy last year with Zeke going after his money. Now that Dak is going after his "the right way" as fans deemed it last year, he's seen as a bad guy. This is why you get what you can on your own terms and ignore the noise.
...I bet, Dakkie Babie not a happy camper. ... Probably wanted to see real money.
People need to stop. Dak is not signing for 33 or 35. If he were going to sign for that kind of money, this deal would likely already be done. That's not what he and his agent want. If you want to say that Jerry and the team are stupid or whatever, for not paying him, then lets be honest. We are talking about paying him something in the area of 40 and for a period of like 3 years. Is that what all of you want? Is that the deal you want the team to sing up for?
Serious question...
Works for me......Dak doesn't deserve to wear the Star.Okay, looks like we will be drafting a QB soon.
Different CBA, my man.
