If the team had followed this logic last year they would have paid Ezekiel Ansah more than 9 Million dollars in FA to put up 2.5 sacks.

you're not gonna get a splash free agent without paying with splash big money.

Wow! No chance I pay that for a one dimensional pass rusher
He's one of the best pass rushers in the NFL signed for $30 million guaranteed for 5 years. Not sure what everyone thinks it's a high price...

Also the cap goes up every year...

Jerry made his splash with Cooper/Jarwin and will now likely wait for the second wave of FA.

Same as it ever was.
Blow out the cap for status quo.

Well, at least we get 8 home games that Cooper will be interested in.

Then 8 when he "doesnt want to cause a ruckus (on his team or the other)."

It won’t matter if we can get back Irving and Gregory. They more than make up for Quinn

Irving isn’t coming back and I wouldn’t be counting on Gregory who hasn’t played in over a year and who still hasn’t been reinstated. Even if the Cowboys give Gregory another shot assuming he’s reinstated who knows what he has left in the tank with all the football he’s missed.

so overpay a guy who didn’t make the defense better and is aging?? Byron Jones I can see the argument for but this contract is outrageous

It's a fair point--Quinn was overpaid. But what's the backup plan?

We go into the draft--at least, at the moment--needing two starters on defense. And we're not talking OLB or SS-type positions. We need a pass rushing defensive end and a cornerback, the two most sought-after positions on defense. If they don't trade for or sign someone soon at either of the positions, then it appears they had no plan

Sorry but whoever wasnt disgusted with Cooper after that attitude has been playing too much fantasy football and must think you get points for catches and yards.

Could have had Clowney for that money. Dont even try to say Dallas is a better team with Cooper than bookends of Lawrence and Clowney. No way.

This offense will STILL stall on grass against good teams.

I suggest you don't watch then. The KC fan board is real popular these days.

No way in hell I'm thinking that......He made $14M last year. So I'm thinking something along those lines.......
Then you're not even going to get close to signing him. He's not going to sign for what Quinn got.

Take a look Vic Beasley and Leonard Floyd. You might be able to sign both for Quinn's money. Younger players.

Can interchange from a 4-3, 46 and 3-4 under Nolan with those guys playing DE and OLB. Apparently that is what we're looking to do under Nolan.

Good pass rusher.

Speed bump against the run.

Still a loss.

Finally that loser with double- digit sacks leaves this once proud franchise! Good riddance Quinn!

I hate to see him leave but going from 7 mill he got last season to 14 mill on a 30 mill guaranteed this season was more than Dallas wanted to pay and I think they are right. I agree Dallas needs to use this off season and focus on defense and I'm sure they will but cost is going to factor into is. I'm not sure Quinn did himself a favor in terms of production going to Chicago where he will be OLB in a 3-4 defense, money wise he clearly cashed in
