Amid all of this team's moves, how is it that this guy is still sitting here counting $9.1 million against the cap?

Word is they reworked Zeke and Collins' contracts to free up money. Why has nothing been done on this obvious mistake?

I know it's me, and I know it's beating a dead horse for me, but it's also a valid question!

For all of the good moves they have made, why is nothing being done here?

Why has this team not make the painfully obvious move of doing something about this contract? Other teams have made measures to cut costs and dead weight, and out worst contract sits on the books? Why?

Answer: TJFFO (The Jones Family Front Office) Lifetime gigs with no winning required.

It's infuriating to watch a team do dumb things over and over and over again.
:banghead:

Even after wasting $10 million last year, and so many millions years before, they still haven't learned.

Maybe coaches simply like him better than you do. He's a try-hard player with some ability to disrupt and can play inside or outside if needed.

You would think with his contract that if any of that was not true, Dallas would have cut him before now. So the logical conclusion is that what you see in Crawford is different than what the team sees.

Before his injury last year, we continually tried to bring in players to start ahead of him, but he would end up starting ahead of them when those players simply did not turn out to be as solid.

For what it's worth, I'm not saying this as someone who believes he's worth what he's being paid. However, the team/coaches have to assess his value and if they believe he's worth $9.1 million then there's a reason for it, whether it's valid or not.

He will be cut. Probably waiting for a certain date so the dead money gets prorated or something.

Wow, I didn't see this thread coming.

Everyone in North America has known for a year that Crawford won't be at his current salary for 2020. The question is whether its a cut or a lower salary through negotiation. But there is no reason to spend time on a slam dunk issue while you are still negotiating with outside free agents. The most likely scenario is a pay cut and that takes longer than just converting salary to a signing bonus (with takes about ten minutes). Crawford's salary will be dealt with months before the money is needed.

Jerry and Stephens favorite few words ....

"Position flex"
"Versatility"
Forget to add "locker room guy" and "uhh he does the dirty work"

Basically create these meaningless adjectives to justify his bloated salary

We save 8 million if he's cut, Danny Shelton literally just signed for 4 million........ (Screw upgrading both DT spots, "Crawford is our friend")

Which "coaches" would they be? The ones who all got fired?

He's a try-hard player with some ability to disrupt and can play inside or outside if needed.

"Try hard"? Try hard? Now we're giving out participation trophies?

You would think with his contract that if any of that was not true, Dallas would have cut him before now. So the logical conclusion is that what you see in Crawford is different than what the team sees.

Sorry, but anyone that looks at the return on investment and Crawford's on-field play vs his off-field pay can easily see that "logic" has nothing to do with this.

I've been right for years while the team has been and continues to be wrong.

because he might be their starting RDE if they don't get one in FA.

I understand people don’t like him, but maybe his absence was the reason our run defense was not as good last year! I’m sure the cowboys have a plan

His contract will be restructured and that’s a bet you can take to Vegas right now. He’ll be playing around 3-4M hit next year not 9.1M.

I know the “position flex” thing got killed under the previous regime, but when you are making your alignments more fluid like Nolan wants, its smart to keep a guy like TCraw who can play 1T (passing downs), 3T, 5T, & 7T. Any injury at any of those positions or any need for 3/4 alignments and he’s your starter. On the d line, your primary backup plays dang near starter snaps. 3M for a solid player and locker room guy who can play literally every position on the Dline is a positive. He’s not bad, he’s just not 9M good. He’s a solid starter/good rotational guy, worth about 3M if you ask me.

Of course if we cut him and brought in someone who could do the same I wouldn’t be mad lol

Don't feel sorry for me. Fell sorry for your favorite team.

I take it you loved the return on that $10 million last year and want more?
