Thank goodness for Looney and having either Williams or McGovern still as depth.

soooooo can we spend some extra to get Griffin or Clowney now?

What I've read recently is that Clowney is resigning with Seattle.

Well..

If we not know it before..

we do now.

Total rebuild year now.

7-10 at best this year. No playoffs.

No trophies except for participation.

Oh..and C goes to the top of the draft lists.

Nice.

We are frickin' snake bit.
Well look at this way, it could give us closer to Trevor Lawrence next year if Dak doesn't do something this year.

Cap hit is about the same as his salary this year.

however, you could save a lot of it if Jerry demands he pays back his signing bonus. 4 years left on the monster deal is a long time to just let him keep it all.

For those asking, the rest of his $11 million in dead money gets accelerated against the cap. Accounting rules depend on the date in which he files retirement papers. The team can not designate him a 6/1 retiree, that is based solely on his official retirement date.

If the Cowboys want to designate him a post 6/1 to take his dead cap over the next 2 years, they would have to cut him, relinquishing their rights him if he were to decide to return.

Cameron Erving may be the best available FA option - he has experience at all OL positions, but was a center in college at Florida State.

Can play? Last time he did we won the division.

Lol chill out my friend. Still a lot of time before the season begins.

Oh Yah...….…...LOL...…….We won the division because of him. Last time he played center, Dak was sacked like 60 times and Zeke had like 7 TD's.

The voice of reason...………………………...Losing a pro bowl center is no big deal. LOL :lmao2::lmao::lmao2:

McGovern played center for at least one season at Penn State. He was looked at as a center prospect by a lot of teams in last year’s draft.

That is turning into a very fortuitous draft pick now. He could be a really good center.

Exactly.

it sucks that Fred is retiring. He is a great player. I wish he wasn’t.

but the cowboys are just about as well positioned as you can be with a pro bowl player retiring. They have a guy with solid starter experience. They have a 3rd round pick who can play the position and there is still the draft.

the sky is not falling

Exactly. Looney is capable and McGovern can play center.

Like I stated before, this isn’t prime elite Frederick we are losing. He was clearly not himself
I didn’t realize it , but Looney did not grade out well when he filled in for Travis. He graded out poorly to be honest from the numbers I saw. McGovern may be the answer. If not, draft a stud to replace Travis. The OL is only as good as the OC.
