Aaron Donald is first tier. McCoy and Poe aren’t first tier.

If Aaron Donald is your idea of 'first tier', then first tier consists of one guy.

I’m not off based about anything. I like these moves. I’m just not giving McCarthy credit for moves Stephen and Jerry probably made.

And yes they addressed it in the past. It was bargain shopping no doubt but that was how they decided to address it due to Maranelli being their defensive line coach.

You certainly are. You just tried to tell everybody that decisions were due to Marinelli, a defensive coordinator line coach, and then tried to suggest that McCarthy, a Super Bowl winning head coach, didn't make these recent moves.

Poor, poor reasoning.

That’s what they do. For bargain shopping they get the input from coaches. When it comes to guys like Amari Cooper or Greg Hardy I highly doubt those were Garrett and Maranelli moves. I’ve seen nothing to suggest they were.

So now Gerald McCoy isn’t first tier? So if Fletcher Cox is first tier what would that McCoy?

So your contention now is that there is a dollar amount assigned to who is making the decisions? And if it exceeds a set amount, it's a Jones decision not involving the coach? That's what you're claiming?

So now Gerald McCoy isn’t first tier? So if Fletcher Cox is first tier what would that McCoy?

You'd have to tell me, these are apparently your rules and tiers alone.

That’s not what I’m claiming that’s what I’m telling you. So wait you are telling me Jason Garrett went to Jerry Jones and said I need that guy Greg Hardy? Well hell at this point what does Jerry and Stephen even do? They just allow their coach’s to sign whoever they want apparently.

And I’m asking you a question. You don’t believe Donald is first tier...what tier is he?

Donald is definitely first tier. so too are Khalil mack and fletcher cox. none of their teams made it to the big dance. poe and McCoy are upgrades to what we had at the tackle spots. woods and Collins were weak links. and no doubt our new tackles are here with mac's recommendations.

I don’t disagree with any of the above. I just don’t have any proof of it. For me to say these are McCarthy moves would be me assuming.

It's funny how our expectations are so low that we give credit to Mike & Jerry for making obvious moves like not resigning Witten or signing a DT.
Come on guys, if we really were smart we should have signed Hardgrave & Chris Harris.

It's your claim alone.

Yours is a cockamamie theory.

You need to answer questions about your own tier process before you ask them of others. Donald is in a class by himself.

Ok lol. It’s common sense because it gives fans hope that things are changing around here lol. Glad for you guys I hope it really is. I guess I’m damaged from the 25 years of how Jerry has ran this team. Guess he’s finally changed in 2020.
i'm seeing less jerry and more Stephen. I personally think Stephen's much better at personnel development and contracts than jerry ever was. actually, jerry never was any good at it good beginning with shante carver. mcclay has Stephen's ear. i'm sure mac does, too.

Who knew it'd take a mass migration of coaches and assistants to cause this FO to seek out legit veteran free agents?! :lmao:

His approach to this off season after the draft with everything we have going on in the WORLD will be crucial to the success of this season.

I am curious to see how we approach the draft this season. With Will McClay still being in house will it really be a different approach? If Cee Dee Lamb is available do we draft him?

Fixed

Well they have addressed it in the past. Cedric Thornton, Kerry Hyder, Terrell McClain, Henry Melton, Christian Covington, Stephen Paea............they've addressed it but did it with 3rd tier guys. As of now we don't know what tier McCoy and Poe are. I'd like to think they are 2nd tier guys at best.

point being that one month into the offseason and all the signings have been very un cowboy like. Including 2 DTs of much higher caliber than the ones you mentioned. Even at 30 and 32.Never, at any point in the past 10 years would you see signings like these 2 back to back. And even that list you mentioned. We were hopeful at the time, but this team just didn't value the position. McCoy and Poe are a needed step in the opposite direction.
