Let's say our board is basically wiped out. That means the WRs are gone, Henderson, Chaisson, Kinlaw are gone as well.

Imo, both of these players are top 25 players in this class and would deserve consideration at 17. In this scenario, trading down is not an option. I also believe the stories that are out there that Delpit is dropping, are baseless.

So just comparing these two individuals and their potential fit on our team, which player would you rather have AND WHY in this scenario? Again, at 17, with the board wiped out, and no trade partner.

Strickly going by your belief that they are top 25 caliber players, I would take Delpit. I think McKinney is more rounded, but Delpit adds something that can turn games. The ability to create turnovers

I like Delpit, but for me it's McKinney without question and I've got no problem taking him at #17. McKinney is a Fitzpatrick clone and cut from the same cloth. These versatile Alabama safeties like Fitzpatrick and Eddie Jackson never leave the filed because they're versatile and have a high enough football IQ to play multiple sub packages. Alabama played McKinney at slot, deep zone split and high, and in the box. I'm taking McKinney at 17, looking at CB in the second, and calling it a wrap for the secondary.

Ashtyn Davis.

I think he'll be better than both.

Drafting nothing but secondary will keep us in the same hole we've been in for years, losing the battle at the LOS on D way too often.

I love K'von Wallace in the 3rd/4th.

If those players and the WR are all gone - that means someone else has dropped.

One of the OT, Derrick Brown or maybe Tua.

If Brown is there - I'm going him all day everyday.
If Tua is there - I'm thinking long and hard about drafting him - but probably trading back
The OT top talent would be tempting given Smith's injury history, but I can't see spending more premium picks on the O-line.

LOVE Wallace and he doesn’t get a lot of recognition. A little smaller, but good tackler with slot CB versatility.

Or trade 17 to the Jets for Jamal Adams
No way. Absolutely no way I'm doing this. I like Adams, but he's not nearly enough of a difference maker in the passing game to warrant the pick and the contract.

If you're going to give up your first and spend, go get Ngakoue.

In the draft, you probably aren't getting a better player than Adams at 17..of course trading for him isn't apples to apples..but Adams will very very likely to be better than any option at 17..

Yes, but at a non-impact position and without the cost control.

probably...but he needs a new contract and will carry a cap hit around 5 times more on avg than a rookie at 17.

Not going to say it means anything but Minkah wasn't a playmaker at all in Miami. He moved to Pittsburgh and was basically DPOY. So at least it's possible. But yes, it's a gamble.

Well that was a usage issue. Minkah has a much different skillset than Adams. I'd trade 17 for Minkah, no questions asked.

Easy to say now. What were your thoughts when we were linked to him is the better question
