I think we're gonna see a lot of Pollard in the slot. He's too good to not be utilized more, but he's not good enough to take snaps away from Zeke. So MM is gonna find ways for him to get the ball.
He got embarrassed by Eli Apple. There is a reason he was inactive most of the season. After his TD against Norman, he was completely ineffective. That TD just sticks out in people's mind. Id be surprised if he is even in the roster next year
That home run potential of Tony Pollard is intriguing as he double hockey sticks. Zeke is a different kind of back.Yah, but he isnt going to be the new slot receiver.
And yah, he is 100% good enough to take snaps away from Zeke. Pollard can provide the big play element that Zeke cannot.

He was well below Ruggs as a prospect and as a pro even when healthy he has performed poorly. He has a catch rate as a pro of 37.5%. He is just not a quality pro WRActually, his quality has nothing to do with his time with the Cowboys. For all intense and purposes, Devon Smith was the Ruggs of his draft. Only an Eagles fan would look at his potential and blow it off.
Devin Smith played at Ohio State, my alma mater. I knew him before anyone here even heard of him.
Cute thread. Unintentional comedy is the best comedy, @CowboyRoy.

His rookie year where caught 9 of 28 targets and last year when he had 2 catchs in 2 starts and got completely erased by one of the worst starting CB's in the NFL. He is just not an NFL caliber WRWhen was he healthy?
His pro career has been wiped out by injury.

Did you actually watch him play last year? Once be was given a role in top 3, he completed disappeared. He got completely taken out of the game by Eli Apple and forced us to throw at Lattimore. Thats a huge competitive disadvantage, and the reason he didnt play the rest of the season. Im surprised he finished the season on the roster.Wow.............28 targets!!! LOL
Was that before he blew out his knee as a rookie? Any other genius analysis you have?
Do you know the name Jimmy Smith??
He became the mascot once he had that big play against long time Cowboy advisory Josh Norman. It pumped the fan base up. In the end it meant nothing because wound up being historically bad last yearHe actually had a big 30-something yard catch vs hapless Miami,..and after that ..phewey!! ... he was not heard from again for the remainder of the season,.
i've heard some argue that a special team roster spot had to be opened up and that's what spelled the end for Devin Smith, but i'm not buying that.
we had a tough disclipinarian WR coach in Sandray Lai who didnt play that and i tend to believe Devin wasn't handling his WR duties too well, and thus
he was benched and made inactive,. plus as a well graded gunner at the college level, i'd find it hard to believe Devin just lost that area of his game to where he
couldn't have helped us out there, but instead the coaches opt to bring in another WR for strictly special teams purposes in this Vernell Bryant (sp)
we have another well noted WR coach in Adam Henry, and you know McCarthy himself is real big and disciplinary on WR duties and responsibilities as well,
and Fassell is a top notch disciplinarian special coach himself,so it wont get any easier for Devin.
He signed a 2 year deal when he came on. but he'll still have to fight and scratch to make the team.
Ditto with the likes of Cedric Wilson and Jonveah Johnson. And i hope we'r done with the Noah Brown experiment now .... Geez

Jimmy Smith played well once he was healthy and given a chance. Devin Smith played poorly once he was healthy and given a chance
