I used to work with a girl that was best friends with Romos college girlfriend. She hated the Cowboys because of Romo and how he treated people in general. Said that he literally acted like he was better than everyone else to include his girlfriend. I personally didnt care. He was my QB and I dont know him personally but I can see how a locker room can become divided with a personality like that at QB.

Some truth to this. You hear he was a bit of a diva there. Jerry’s boy. Had his own set of rules.
Romo did admit to passing on running looks in the red zone to pad his TD stats and would act dumb on the sidelines when Murray would question him about it. Ware does say people were worried about stats.

If you haven't seen this it's great stuff by Demarcus ware! The video is a little long and it lags, but Demarcus goes into reasons why his Cowboys despite having all the pieces couldn't break through and get it done while the Broncos could. He alludes to the Cowboys having way too many chiefs and not nearly enough Indians. He also talks about they were more worried about stats and td's as opposed to each other. He said the Broncos would hang out together in locker room play video games, bring the family to just be around everyone during practices. He said the Cowboys lacked that team and the closeness.

Does this surprise anyone? Check the vid out, it's long and pool quality, but relevant content.

Von Miller helped.

It seems to me that he was talking more about the quality players all thinking they were the special ones, and they didn't feel like they needed to listen to anyone else.

Well, he said several things in that regard. Everyone wanted to be chief. The players didn't hang out because most of them were married. Etc.

The difference between that environment and the one we had when Jimmy Johnson was here IMO was Johnson. He set the standards for what was expected on those Super Bowl teams. If the talent is there, which Ware has no doubts about, then it's on the coaches to make it cohesive.

You could see the things Ware is talking about the last year that Phillips was here. Players became entitled and slipped in so many ways because they had a coach who didn't know how to guide them.

I thought Garrett was better in that aspect and his failures had to do more with philosophy and scheme, but what Ware says would indicate that he wasn't.

I thought Romo got a little too Hollywood with the locker room. He had his guys like Witten and Miles Austin, but when I saw him on the National Enquirer with Jessica Simpson, I knew it was over. :(

Do people remember anything correctly? Romo was roommates with T-New his first two years. Then in the years he became the starter he hung out with a bunch of the guys on the team pretty regularly, witten, columbo, kozier, davis, fasano and a few others. That was the core group of guys he was close with for the most part.

When teams change and players with close to ten years experience are still on the roster it is rare that they hang out with the rookies and young players.

Aikman was supposedly one of the biggest jerks around. He sang on an album and ran around with nashville stars. He hung out with stepnoski and a few others.

its the same thing with most of these guys, they hang out with a group of guys they came in with and if they are around longer than the other guys they generally are not going to be hanging out with 21 year old rookies or whatever.

you know which qb did hang out with his teammates...to the detriment of his team was Jim Kelly. Him and his brother and their gang were essentially like alcoholics.

Who knows what’s going on out there..

You hear from someone it’s a country club and someone else says it’s just a business environment..

Who knows.

I don’t feel like Bill Belichick is running his team bye throwing back yard BBQs and playing video games.

I have never heard this before or seen anything about it. Please provide proof if you are not making this up.

Cancer of the culture.

Hoping MM changes that.

Ever notice all we do is hope beyond hope that Jerry somehow stops being a problem?

just like the guy he learned from in Bill Parcells most players hate them while playing for him but then appreciate him later on.

Its been the reverse here since jimmy sans parcells four years.

oh please by all means tell us what his rules were.

I also happen to know for a fact Ware and Romo are big fans of each other. They were leaders on this team and never spoke a bad word about any teammates or coaches. They took the hits for the organizations failures for years because they were the two best players.

They both were kicked out like garbage.

and people still put it on them. Funny stuff.

A little Mexican vacation before the playoffs. A UFA did that.

both were big game no shows in Dallas. I can’t remember one big sack ware had other than the one in New Orleans.

Ware got plenty of sacks, Any of them in key moments? I can think of one, probably the same one you can think of.

Must have been Romo, Witten and Garrett always hanging out. Since Dak has been QB these guys hang out a ton. Now with a superbowl winning HC, this thing might start to gel and be ready in the playoffs for a run.
