Matt Moore wouldn't be terrible. Limited, but at least he's a "proven" backup.
Not to mention he played for a mil last year, one million cheaper than Rush current deal.

My thoughts exactly.
I want to draft a QB that can not only be a solid backup but can potentially win the starting job.
Jalen Hurts in the third round is the idea scenario.
Nah. Hurts is limited and chokes under pressure. Seldom throws to a covered WR.

I'd rather the Cowboys use one of their 5th rounders on Hawaii's QB Colt Brennan. He's taller, faster and has a better arm than Jalen Hurts. Hurts is overhyped.

I seen Hurts entire college career. You severely misjudged him.
Look at his stats and win loss record. He had a better college career statistically better than Dak.
You would've said the exact same thing about Dak if anyone mentioned drafting him in the third round if he was in this draft going only by his college career.
Trust me. I know exactly what I'm talking about.

Dak isn't giving up his starting role. Only qb that is drafted will be on PS.

You need to do both. Draft a good young QB and bring in a vet who gives us a chance to win games if Dak is out.

Right now I dont think the Cowboys are too worried about the Backup for Dak Prescott. I think theyre more worried about Dak coming Back.

I like throwing this Wildcat out just to generate some interest in getting cute with a pick,, check out Lynn Bowden and tell me that man doesn't have just a few Lamar Jackson traits .

4/4/20: Following the example of Randall Cobb, Bowden was a great athlete at wide receiver who was pressed into playing quarterback for the Kentucky Wildcats. As a receiver in 2019, Bowden had 30 catches for 348 yards and a touchdown, but as a running quarterback, Bowden averaged 7.9 yards per carry for 1,468 yards with 13 touchdowns on the ground in 2019.

I’d be content with either. I think its ridiculous this fan base doesn’t want a proven backup. We have been very fortunate Dak hasn’t missed a game, but if he did cooper is no better than the likes of Brandon Weeden and that God awful stretch of backups when Romo when out.

If a team is really considering themselves, than they need a proven backup qb. Not a rookie 4th round pick smh.

Cooper Rush has been "The" backup QB for multiple years now. The Cowboys don't appear to be in a rush (pardon the pun) to replace him.
He's basically Matt Moore 8 years ago lol

Stop it! Superman doesn't need a backup but we have Cooper Rush anyway. That's enough and enough said.
