Mims has the size, speed, talent and ability to be one of the best WRs out of this draft. With a very good NFL WR's coach to coach him up, he could become a big weapon. His play reminds me of Terrell Owens. Watching Mims is like watching T.O. play.

Imagine having Mims and Gallup on the outside, while moving Amari inside where he can better use his excellent cutting ability and route running to better use against smaller/slower DBs.

Mims has the biggest ceiling of any receivers in the draft. He is bigger in faster then Jeudy and Lamb. If the doomsday scenario happens and only two quarterbacks are picked before 17 he might actually be the pick. If there is a run on receivers like most expect he might go in the top 15. In two years Mims could be the best receiver in this draft.

Agreed. Too bad many here don't see that. They would rather have a shorter and slower WR.

We are going to get an elite talent at 17. Some draftniks on this board are crazy if they don’t believe that. Mims is an elite talent that would upgrade our team.

Based on what? He’s not a good route runner and struggled to separate in college.

He’s an elite athlete, but nowhere near an elite talent.

Right now, he looks like DK Metcalf. If you have a good deep ball thrower he can add value just running 9 routes early in his career while you try to develop him into a more complete receiver.

Metcalf went at 64. That sounds about right for Mims, particular in a WR class this deep.

You're getting carried away with measurables.

Darrius Heyward-Bey had better measurables than Dez or Amari Cooper...

Hundreds of WRs have had better measurables than Mike Irvin...but most of them are not in the Hall of Fame.

I like the player but there is more to being a top prospect than measurables. It measurables were definitive there would never be a draft bust in the 1st round.

Yeah over 1000 yards and over 20 touchdowns is struggling to get separation. Stop reading posts and repeating what you here on Cowboys zone, then watch some film or tape. You actually might learn something. His sparq score is the third highest of all the receivers. He has elite tools to be great.

I here you. I actually want Chaisson and I believe we will draft defense with our first 3 picks. I am just saying the guy has elite tools. Especially after what the Seahawks kid did last season. Mims is not getting out the first round.

I know you are not a big fan of Dez, do you think he might come back to the Cowboys?

Different rules in college. He just pushed DBs out of the way. In the NFL he would have had a dozen Offensive PI calls per game playing that style.

You are not watching "film" or "tape". You're watching broadcast game footage.

He played at Baylor in a conference where defense doesn’t exist. You and me could probably rack up 1000 yards there.

Ive watched his tape, and like most players highlight reels it’s fun. That doesn’t change his weaknesses.

Almost 30% of routes last year were go/fade routes and he has one of the highest contested catch rates out of all the WR prospects.

I never questioned his athleticism I stated he’s not a good route runner and struggled to separate.

The Cowboy Front Office has targeted strong route runners for Dak. Cooper is perhaps the best route runners in the entire league. A player like Van Jefferson seems to be an ideal fit.

Not a fan of the age, but like the player and think he could be a great mid round target.

You can say the same thing about Lamb. You really don’t know until they play in the NFL. The SMU wide receiver who people on this board were scared to draft is a good player for the Broncos now.

Sure you can, and I’d be saying Lamb is overrated too if he wasn’t a good route runner that struggled to separate...but he’s great at both so it’s completely irrelevant.

I didn’t think of this until I read your post and he does seem to push off a lot haha.

I think we our going defense with the first 3 picks, well at least I hope. So hopefully we won’t have to worry about either guy.
