Should Dallas trade for WR: Curtis Samuel?

Perhaps the Cowboys should look into what the Panthers are expecting for that trade, although, according to what they've indicated, they're expecting a "strong offer" to be made for him. It's entirely possible that Samuel's asking price is far more than what they want to pay?! They gave up a 2nd round pick for him when he was drafted, so it wouldn't be surprising if that's what they're wanting. It's likely worth looking into, however. Couldn't hurt to ask.

I think a 3rd round this year and a future late round pick next year would do it.

It's hard to say, although, there's also the question of whether or not our FO would be willing to go there, especially if Deebo is looking for a blockbuster contract. In any event, inquiries come for free, so there's that to consider. ;)

They’re not gonna give this kid up. He’s still super young and his role increased big time last year. Hard to put a value on it, is he worth a 1st rounder? No but for the Panthers, is he easily replaceable if you send him off for a 3rd? I’d imagine not really.

Can’t be trading any picks. Too much work to be done on defense. Look at the contract situation in the secondary. Nearly the whole group could turnover. They need to grad a S and a corner or 2 in this draft. A third rounder can’t be wasted on a slot WR.

Safety other than Dix must be addressed. Pick the right one and we good for the next 4 years.

This whole cobbling of the safety positions needs to end.

But this team is hardheaded about it.

Defense is in good position, need to address parts of secondary and a DE. Also add a DT in the mid rounds. Dallas has seven draft picks this year so trading one away this year, and another future one doesn’t have significant impact.

The Boys will be awarded better Comp pick next year possibly (2) third round picks.

He the kind of WR that will play in this league for a very long time probably.
Good WR, but I wouldn't give up a high draft pick for him and I don't see Carolina actually wanting to for anything less.
He is still on his first contract, so I guess the mindset from Carolina is to get something back and invest in a rookie so they don't have to pay that second deal.

For a slot guy? Makes zero sense. Btw they need secondary guys that can play. Not 5th / 6th rounders. Has Dallas ever been awarded 2 third round comp picks? That will not happen. On offense the order is going to go Zeke, Cooper, Gallup, Dak and then the TE. Whoever that TE is. The slot guy will be the 5th or 6th option. That 3rd round pick could be next year’s starting S.

I wouldn't be upset if every pick was defensive.

He is a complete package, but slot would be his place in Dallas primarily. He ranked #8 in deep ball targets and his average depth of target was 12.2 yards. https://theriotreport.com/why-curtis-samuel-is-actually-having-a-great-2019/
