Right, so can't count on him, so draft a QB. That is my take now days as the draft approaches. What, 9 days away.
This pushes Dak to sign, the we have a back up plan and possibly trade potential in the future for the drafted QB or a possible future QB if Dak does not work out on his tag. If he signs.

The more I think about it, drafting a QB at 17 is a win win.
I've been advocating for bringing in another real option for years, there's nothing wrong with have two good QB's on the roster.

Risk it.. Give him the year off to get right and you have possibly the best QB in this class.

If you play it safe with Dak and give him all that money you’re locking yourself into a Kirk Cousins type of player..

Go draft a potential superstar that will be on a cheap deal. That’s what wins. Not following the stupidity of teams overpaying QBs.
I'd rather have Kirk Cousins than a lot of quarterbacks in this league.

I get it, but the optics aren't great. At the end of the day, the guy just isn't worth the headache or the money he's asking for. It's time to start considering other options.
Its too late for that. That should've been done last season when you KNEW he was up for a new deal. Now isn't the time to say he isn't worth the headache. These are contract negotiations. Cowboys should've known what they were signing up for.

True and to the point.
Are you as a Cowboys fan comfortable with just being content, somewhat successful?
Not directly pointing this at you rocyaice, but just at todays Cowboys Nation in general?
Is that a fair question.

Id rather lose and draft potential then be stuck with a player like Cousins.
And that is how you end up like the Commanders, Jaguars, Browns, Jets, etc. Commanders would've been much better had they built off of Cousins then have they done what they've done.

Instead of just giving Cousins what he wanted and earned....they had to give Alex Smith 90 million, trade for Case Keenum and draft Dwayne Haskins.....and in 2020 is here and they still have questions quarterback. Meanwhile, Vikings are just coming out of the playoffs with that Cousins guy.

I think being successful is much better than what the Commanders have been doing. I've always liked Cousins. He had that stain on his resume for not showing up in primetime games but overall I liked him as a quarterback. He surely doesn't belong in the company of bad quarterbacks that people try to put him in. And hell I'd rather have him than Jimmy G.

Please please please let Tua or Herbert be in range for us. Send D$k packing to the Raiders to hang out Heath and Witten. Or some other destitute franchise.

Serious question. Since D$k has not signed the tag. Can he be traded on draft day?

Dude. Tua could very well be a bust as well. You can’t sit here and say oh just draft someone he’s a superstar. He has just as much of a chance of turning into Ryan leaf as he does mahomes. You don’t have a crystal ball. Stop pretending to.

What have the Vikings done?

I’d rather be adding pieces like Chase Young then being stuck in the middle.

Yeah let's hope guys are available that can someday be as good as Dak even though one doesn't show up in big games and the other is injury prone lol.
