Risk it.. Give him the year off to get right and you have possibly the best QB in this class.

If you play it safe with Dak and give him all that money you’re locking yourself into a Kirk Cousins type of player..

Go draft a potential superstar that will be on a cheap deal. That’s what wins. Not following the stupidity of teams overpaying QBs.

I said it months ago before you did. When both are right we can trade 1 if need be.

Imagine being the genius general manager who gave up on a quarterback who threw for 30 touchdowns for the chances at drafting Dwayne Haskins, Daniel Jones, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Mitch Tribusky, Josh Allen or Josh Rosen lol.

Four years is best for Dak. I'm not sure it's best for the team. What frustrates me is that the team has offered to make Dak the richest player in league history and he's quibbling over one year. That goes both ways.

Is 4 years added of new money not standard? If it is Dak has every right to say no to a 5 year deal.

Not sensitive. I'm just saying if I came on here calling you a ****** slobberer you'd probably be offended. Why should we have to sit through these thoughts you have of men slobbering other men?
You don’t have to sit through anything... ignore function supposedly works well. I don’t even think slobberer is a word, lol... you’re projecting your weirdness into the forum.

Imagine focusing on one 30 TD outlier season instead of the 3 22 TD, game manager seasons that preceded it, lol.

So won't Dak be in his prime at 32 just like he would at 31?

?

Especially at positions where there's a good chance they'll still be in their prime

Arguing for a longer term deal cause of the above sentence. He should be in his prime well past 32.

But the deal the Cowboys want to give him is 5. Is 5 long term and 4 is short term?

He hasn't signed his tag, so technically he isn't under contract at the moment
Stop all negotiations.

We are becoming the joke of the NFL.

Dak is making us look like absolute fools.

We have to move on.

Even if it's Cooper Rush at QB. Find a team we can trade with and move up for a real QB and draft him.

Get him ready to take over before year end or next season. This is just a bump in the road.

Does Dak show leadership for the team here..for the other 52 guys who have to depend on his decisions?

No..next question.

Said it before, but there seems to be a cottage industry now of people who care more about players extracting every cent possible from those evil owners than about the sport or the team. I'll never understand that. When I became a huge sports fan as a kid, I never cared about who was making money, players or owners.

Or there is an industry of people who realize that Dak Prescott was the 77th highest paid QB in the NFL for the better part of all 4 years and believe it reasonable that he gets a contract that pays him not a penny less than market rate.

5 years is one more year than 4 years.

Cowboys like handing out 5+ year term deals to their core players.

  • Tyron Smith: eight years
  • Travis Frederick: six years
  • Dez Bryant: five years
  • Zack Martin: six years
  • Jaylon Smith: five years
  • La’el Collins: five years
  • Ezekiel Elliott: six years

It allows them to manipulate the cap numbers and restructure when need be.

Wow guys all this means is the deadline to get the deal done is April 20th lol. They literally were getting closer but then the world stopped and they had no rush to get anything done.

The “deadlines make deals” boys are a week or so away from locking this up. Dak will probably get his 4 year deal demands.

He's gotta lead his fellow teammates and colleagues around the league. Gotta show the youth you know your worth and the ball is in your court. Don't get just succumb to your "owner".
Looks so bad on him to just wilt and take a low ball deal. People don’t understand the angle of other players in the league and in the lockeroom.

I started to really dislike this team halfway through last season. The needle sure as hell isn't moving in the right direction.

First Cowboys team I have ever felt a general dislike for.

I sort of am, too. And I really did like most of these guys from 2016 on.

I do like Dak. And I don’t fault him for playing hardball. But avoiding the offensive implementation with the offer that’s on the table would bother me. Just sign the tag and be there for your team.

Elliot’s holdout last season set entirely the wrong tone for the season. We don’t have enough junkyard dogs on defense and we’re starting to look like a group of high-profile underachievers. The good young players I wanted to see take the next steps have sorted stayed in place without becoming dominant. There aren’t a lot of young guys to get really excited about.

Put it together with how poorly the league is run under Goodell’s watch, and it’s not a good trend.

FWIW. Didn't watch the video

Source: Dak to skip Cowboys' virtual offseason

A source tells Mike Florio Dak Prescott will skip the Cowboys' virtual offseason program as he still waits on a long-term deal with Dallas.

Good how about he skips the whole season now that would be something to rejoice about as I've grown tired of Field goals and 3 and outs against good teams!
