I don’t understand why anyone lamenting all our free agents and the money to resign then would trade for a safety who is just now ready for a new, top of the line contract. If you are ready to let Dak go and draft a new QB, then surely you should be in greater favor of drafting a safety than paying top dollar for one.

I think the problem for some is not knowing what you're getting from a rook vs Adams being an elite proven commodity whose only 24. He'll be the face/leader of your D for the next 5-6 years at least. Not saying I love the idea but I can certainly see an case for making it happen as long as we don't overpay.

Why would the Cowboys do this? You could probably trade down and still get Delpit or McKinney while gaining an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick. Then you pay them a cheap rookie contract for the next 4 years plus a 5th year option.

Why dont we use our Own picks and draft a safety, a cornerback, and whatever else we need and let Tyron Smith retire a Dallas Cowboy.

Lol @ “midst of a championship window” after going 8-8, letting their 2 best defensive players walk, a RB declining, an All Pro Center retired and a QB they don’t want to pay.

Hahahahahahahah....keep the Kool Aid flowing Jerrah, you’ve done a great job for over two decades. All you need to is add someone like Aldon Smith and and Randy Gregory and you’re Super Bowl bound!

Quinn used the past season to get QB takedowns so he could get paid again. He contributed nothing else to our defense.

Jones got massively overpaid, I'll take the compensatory pick over him.

Smith IS declining, nobody can argue that. However, I would still take him and 2 high picks over a strong safety who's about to get paid like a middle range QB.

COWBOYS GET
S JAMAL ADAMS
The team that is most desperate to land superstar safety Jamal Adams is the Dallas Cowboys. Big D believes they’re in the midst of a championship window and Jerry Jones is willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.

The team flirted with a potential Jamal Adams trade near the NFL Trade Deadline, but they weren’t willing to pay the piper. Recently there have been some reports that suggest the Cowboys will be making another aggressive push to try and land Adams.

If they’re serious this time around, then let’s get serious.

At a bare minimum, the 17th overall pick has to be included in any deal and in addition to that the team will either require a few more Day 2 picks (round two or three). Instead of slogging through more potential trades involving unknown draft picks, the Jets can land a premier left tackle in Tyron Smith

Why does anyone think they would get anything more than our 17th? He has a year or two left and then we have to resign him for big money. Thats obviously something THEY dont want to do.

Biggest thing to take out of all this is the fact that he assumes that Jerry is desperate and will be primed to do something stupid.

His reputation precedes him?

Pretty sure we offered our top 2 picks last year and they said no so I doubt anything less even gets them to answer the phone. They want the guy but not at the price he wants them to pay. Rock and a hard place.
