I never said any of that. Only that another receiver isn't going to fix the issue. The issues with the offense weren't lack of talent at skilled positions. So adding a rookie at one of them isn't turning the dial for me. Not buying the offensive hype.
But without not only replacing but upgrading from Cobb, the offense was going to take a big step backwards. Cedric Wilson or a 5th rounder as your starting slot doesn’t do much

The structure of the contract makes no difference we were looking long-term with him. Signing him cost us one of our best players and has made it more difficult to get Dak re-signed. The Cowboys would have never allowed Byron Jones to walk had they been thinking only two years with Amari.

Lol, you can say it doesn’t matter but absolutely does. Why are you stuck on the present day? We’re talking about 2022.

I mean, I did want a defensive player but every time that I looked at how the first round might fall, I ended up with a WR being the BPA by a mile. I always figured that it would be Ruggs or maybe Jeudy. I never ever expected Lamb to get anywhere near Dallas’ pick.

I think Lamb is about one of the top 5 guys in this draft.

He had to be the pick. Dallas would be getting Lambasted (pardon the pun) had they not taken him at 17.

Really dude. We now have the best receiving core in football. Enjoy your 40 burger. No team can cover all three receivers, Zeke, and Pollard. We have potentially the best offense in Cowboys history. We have 4 players now that can score from anywhere on the field.

Let's hope you are right...

Honestly, you have to wonder again how the Cowboys simply dont have a team building plan. Signing Zeke almost looks foolish now.

What are you going to do, pound the rock when you have the 3 WR's that we have? Its an embarassment of riches on offense. At some point it becomes diminishing returns.

And the oline is slowly fading into mediocrity.
Without a legit 3rd WR, the offense was actually easy to defend especially with the OL in a bit of decline as you correctly alluded to. Double Coop and dare Gallup to win. He hasn’t shown he can win top flight matchups.

Relying on a 5th round slot/Jarwin is not a recipe for success.

If you want to believe that we made Amari the highest paid receiver in the league choosing him over Byron Jones, just so we could move on from him in two years you’re kidding yourself. lol

No, you didn't on only say another receiver is going to fix the issue. You said "it's all on Dak mostly. Are you saying that only applies with Dak, and with other QBs the overall team matters? And you said Dak can't score TD's yet he threw more TD passes than all but 3 QBs last year.

By the way, if the losses are "all on Dak mostly", then the wins in other years are also "all on Dak mostly", right?

I get if you think WR wasn't the right way to go. We all know the defense needs help. And I get not being completely sold on Dak. But you can do that and still be fair minded.

They got work to do for sure still but this pick is a home run as far as value goes. I am going to hold ultimate judgement after the next 3-4 picks. If it is heavy D and maybe a good Lineman that drops, I think it will be solid. I want a top notch Defense but we might be going from a great Offense to Chiefs-like... MM likes 3 step get the ball out passing game, I look for the Garrett 5 step drop stuff to go away eventually. Blocking schemes will change, etc. Definitely more West coast probably.

Hoping for a solid 2nd draft day.

Definitely the best player, love the pick.

Now, let us get some defense...

Pretty sure he was disappointed he dropped that far. I don't blame him but I have a strong feeling it will work out well for him. Although the glory of the Cowboys has long gone to the wayside of kids these days. It's kind of understandable. At least I think so... All these kids were born AFTER the Cowboys won their last SB by a couple years...sickening to me.
