I really think this draft had Big Mac written all over it. "Get me the best players available and we'll find a way to use them."

Hard to say for sure but it's definitely a possibility. One thing for certain, I've watched a lot of drafts through the Garrett years go to waste. But suddenly this draft with Garrett out of the picture turned out to be the most impressive draft class I've seen for the Cowboys.
A mere coincidence? Hmmm.

As it should be
You have to factor need but the most important thing is talent
It’s easier to find a different way to use a talented player than to make a bad player better

I feel like they finally drafted their board instead of letting old man River let them take those no production DL pet projects
I think it similar to what we have done with that exception
You can’t make a guy with no heart into a player

Yeah, I think Anae had the most overall value for spot available.

However, Dallas got a half to a full round better value on most of their picks.

It was a talented draft but the boards fell just right to have the Cowboys needed talent also be BPA when the time came. Can't think of the last time that happened considering Dallas was in the middle of the round.

Can anyone explain the difference between the previous two drafts and this one?? Why such a big discrepancy between them, light the brass really cared about doing it's homework and it paid off. We have the same people , wonder if Mike McCarthy had some influence on our picks??

How many times he gonna run 40 yards? his 10 yard split was above average

His 40 time is probably why he fell. The same was said about Taco. Let’s hope that the result is better with him than Taco.

For the record, I like the value of the pick, as much as you do. But I try to keep it real.

I think it has happened before but the Cowboys were not as consistent in sticking to their board. They did do that last year with Connor McGovern.

Anae was probably the biggest steal. Picked 179th and is a guy that can compete immediately. Everyone had him graded 3rd round pick the latest

I think a better way to measure how big a steal we got is to use the Draft Pick Value Chart and measure the points differential between where the player was expected to be taken (roughly) and where they were actually taken. This would confirm that CeeDee was our biggest steal, which better accords with intuition in my view.

We had so much value this draft you could pick all our picks 1-5 lol

yea Brugler said on air that we got Anae almost 100 picks from where he had him on his board....

There was a reason he fell. Other teams passed on him and allowed him to fall that far.

A guy can fall 15-20 picks based on circumstances beyond that player’s perceived value. But they won’t left him fall 100 draft spots unless all the teams are evaluating him lower than Brugler.

Brugler may be spot on with his evaluation (and I love hearing that sort of stuff) but his 40 time most likely was the reason he fell.
