What if the Jets were willing to do an Adams for Gallup trade?

Would you be in favor?

I think it could be an interesting deal to look at. I don't think the Cowboys consider it, but I think an offer of Gallup might get the Jets attention.
adams contract demands would concern me...

You're not trading for a box safety.

You're trading for a FS, SS, Slot CB, and an elite blitzer.

Adams is going to cost 15 mil AAV to re-sign in two years, but guess what Gallup is going to cost in two years? I'd bet around the same amount in AAV.

And your trading for a guy with 2 int's in 46 games. No thanks. We can trade Gallup before his contract is up if need be.

Jet would never do it anyway.

1) Jamal Adams is a young Pro Bowl Safety
2) They have Denzel Mimms, Jamison Crowder, Brashan Perriman, and Quincey Enunwa as their top 4 WRs...so now in pretty good shape.
I wouldn't call that "good shape". Gallup would go there and be their best receiver.

Cobb had games when he didn't show up too.

Sure,,, what's the point again? Really good players don't show up some times. Sometimes it's on them, sometimes it's the defense, the play caller, the QB... You can bet this will happen to CeeDee too.

No way when I break up what could be the strongest WR receiving corp in the league for a safety who isn’t a ball hawk. Adding Lamb along with Amari and Gallup gives us a three headed monster at receiver. Good luck watching defenses try and defend them. Part of the excitement of drafting Lamb is adding him to what we already have. This could end up being the best three best WRs the Cowboys have ever head on the same team.

Yeah that's the part that goes against what MM was saying for the draft.

For that reason, I don't think we will actually pull a deal for Adams, unless it gets alot cheaper.....which doesn't seem like a possibility at the moment.

Disagree. I think Gallup was going to end up making more than Cooper. But he might not have the production now that the Cowboys got Lamb.

Adams only has two career INT’s. He’s an excellent player but isn’t worth the $15 million a year he’s looking for and losing a 1000 yard receiver who’s only going to get better especially with the addition of Lamb. I wouldn’t want to break up this three headed monster we have at WR before it’s even gotten started.

Adam's comes with an immediate price tag of what...$10-14 mil/ yr?

Gallup is still in his rookie deal?

How do you justify this.?

And Adam's wants to get new deal..

In which get this..

HE WILL WANT TO BE PAID THE HIGHEST IN THE NFL AT HIS POSITION.

Sure..it not good enough that everybody we sign be a Pro Bowler..but the highest paid one.

I believe this is the whole reason for the salary cap.

I refuse to bait people as I think it's just lazy posting.

But no way we sign this guy unless he is about to retire and needs his last $8 mil before he hits the unemployment line.

Can't happen otherwise.

Jets asking price for a very good but not amazing defensive player is ridiculous. They can go shove their demands for him in a certain special place. Really you would think they have Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu on their hands. Most i would offer is next drafts 2nd and one of our 3rds. If its not done before training camp then a 2nd is all im offering.

That would be an issue if INT's were the only way you could impact the game on defense.
I don't think it's that at all. Trading a first rounder for Adams allows you to keep your offense from losing a valuable piece in Gallup. Trading Gallup makes you weaker on offense and less explosive.

If players are involved as far as trading goes, I'm going with a guy like Antwaun Woods and/or one of the million DE on the roster and a draft pick or two.
You could easily pick up the phone and grab a 3rd WR via trade. Probably could get Christian Kirk for a 4th.

That just makes my point even more. People are against this hypothetical trade (that the Jets would laugh at btw) because you'd have to give big $ to Adams.

Yet are ignoring that you have to pay Gallup in two years who will cost as much if not MORE than Adams.

Neither one would get re-signed by the Cowboys imo. The difference is you get two years of cheap production with Gallup vs one year with Adams. Plus if you trade Gallup you go back to having two great receivers nothing really behind them. Had the Cowboys double dipped at wide receiver in the draft I would feel better about trading Gallup.

You get two cheap years with Adams too. Jets just exercised their 5th year club option on Adams today, which means he's not a UFA until 2022.

I’m not saying I would do it but I think it’s interesting to think about and realistic because Gallup is an up and coming player still under control and they are receiver needy.

They did take Mims but I imagine they’d want someone more established to pair him with.

Then we would have a hole at the wide receiver position, if the Jets would take Gallup amd a 2021 2nd rounder, then we can replace Gallup when teams make their cuts and have Adams. That I would do.

Not impactful getting int's. You value in box SS more than me.
When you watch him play he is all over the field.

You know he is there, and not because he blew up a coverage.

He makes plays, however you look at it.

Interceptions are like sacks. No one gets a high total, especially when there are others around you to throw at.

All fine. Just saying....if you saw him more youd feel differently. Theres no possible way you could have seen him play very much of you think he isnt an impact player regardless of where he plays.
