You get two cheap years with Adams too. Jets just exercised their 5th year club option on Adams today, which means he's not a UFA until 2022.

Adams will be at a discount in 2021, but he won't be cheap.

What if the Jets were willing to do an Adams for Gallup trade?

Would you be in favor?

I think it could be an interesting deal to look at. I don't think the Cowboys consider it, but I think an offer of Gallup might get the Jets attention.

Exactly...………..I need Gallup and Lamb for road games when Cooper doesn't feel like playing.

Dam, I cant believe I am actually saying this about a WR we just gave $100 million to, but it is what it is...……..dude dont play road games.
Yeah I know. It sounds silly. It sounded silly when I typed it. And I for one hope he gets that road thing sorted out this year. But I can only go by what I've seen last season and based on that? I trust Gallup more on the road at this point.

No way. $ wise that’s a terrible deal....way more expensive to get a #1 or even #2 in their prime On a rookie contract than a S Headed for a big payday.

I would make the trade if he didn't want to be the highest-paid safety in the league.

and...stud is reserved for elite. But give me another and... in the next reply. This is fun.

oh, now you're parsing words, lol. This strawman bit isn't fun, it should be embarrassing! So you're saying the Cowboys didn't have a badass trio of receivers last year? I'm saying they did. Cobb was by no means a limiting factor.

Cobb isn't elite as in a #1 reciever. We disagree, fine.

Why would the Jets agree to that deal? If you want me to play, "what if", you have to tell me why the Jets are going there. In the real world, they would want more for Jamal. It would send up a red flag to me that something is wrong with him. I would want to know what that something would be before going any further with that deal. Without that information, I would not go there either. No deal.

The problem with you guys is you haven't had good coaching in so long. You cannot have a stud everywhere, and with good coaching, we don't need one.

Give it a year or at least a pre-season and keep the powder dry.

Box SS's no matter how good are not worth $15M. That is what he wants. We are not one player away on D and if I am spending that money for one player it's on an edge rusher that has far more impact. Gallup has more impact. Adams is a great player everyone would love to have but that is a luxury that even the Jets understand. ONLY because of Elliott did we pay the RB position. We have paid literally every starting player on offense. With LVE, we will have paid 3 players on D. You simply cannot throw around that many large contracts under the cap and keep a team together. We still have to pay backups and rebuild the rest of the D including this and the next two years' drafts. You draft S, you don't trade 1sts and pay for a S.

The Cowboys would do this trade in a heartbeat but the Jets would laugh in their face and with good reason. A fair trade for Adams would be Cooper, Zeke, or Lawrence. Pick one!
The Jets already have a RB, I doubt they would want Cooper because he is just getting too much money so that would leave Lawrence. If Im the Cowboys I wouldnt trade Lawrence for Adams and Im not giving the Jets my first round pick. I would just move on and forget about Adams.

This thread, not on specific post but the whole thread, is amazing.
It could probably be considered an exercise thread for developing ones neck muscles for the number of face palms and head shakes.

No thank you too much capital. Plus then my jersey plans go awry. In all seriousness i dont think losing Gallup is worth the cost of bringing Adams.
Two time all-pro safety entering the prime of his career

Up and coming second WR who has shown the possibility of being a high quality starter

“In all seriousness”, you might need to re-evaluate.

We had one all pro on the team last year. Zack Martin.

This would be a no brainer

Every single team in the league would do this deal except the Jets.
