Would you trade Gallup?

For a 2021 2nd rounder?

I could see a team like GB or SF wanting to trade for him.

Or do you want to keep the depth since he is under contract for this season and next?

Seriously? Why do you think we drafted Lamb? We didn’t waste a #1 pick on a wr just so we can trade a young, proven, 1,000 yard receiver for a #2.

I really like Gallup but at best he's a legit #2 receiver.

I like the idea of getting a 2nd rounder for him since we have no chance of extending him.

No.

He's dirt cheap and has a connection with Dak. He's not a pending UFA.

I couldn't care less about future picks this far away.
The goal is to win now, and Gallup does that more this upcoming season than a 2021 2nd rounder.

And why would we help a potential NFC playoff team?

No chance? Are you assuming Cooper/Crawford/Lee are still on the roster?

Btw to answer the OP the answer is NO. He's cheap, he's a 1k+ receiver, and 4 years from now will probably be better than Cooper. So as of right now I'm thinking if we have to lose either Gallup or Cooper it should be Cooper. I hope we are able to keep both with the salary cap going up. Probably means losing some combo of Lewis, Chido, and Brown on defense and hoping to draft a great RDE.

No. I'm focused on 2020, not 2021. GB needed to draft one instead of a QB. The 49ers should have kept their WR. I don't want to bail them out. I would be more than willing to trade them Trysten Hill for their 2nd however.

Dak needs all of these weapons - you just handicap him by getting rid of WR talent. We could not even function offensively against the good teams with the 3 WR we had last year!

No - I am more apt to run with what we have now . See if cream rises to the top - see if we can have success over the next year or so ..let that determine who we continue to build around etc .. scenarios

Gallup and CeeDee Lamb go off making Cooper expendable in a couple years

Gallup doesn’t take next step then let G go
Lamb doesn’t elevate to next level in NFL game play it out

We win a super bowl or more .. find a way to keep the band together

too many variables to just let him go and haven’t even factored in the possibility of injuries

I remember this time last year we were all bragging how our LB core was a position of strength then boom ... it all fell apart

Really? I think its a legit question. No way can we extend Gallup in 2 seasons.

We have Cee Dee Lamb now.

You have absolutely no clue what the cap will look like in two years. Much like you have absolutely no idea what a 2nd pick will do. Meanwhile Gallup may have been our best receiver last year.

It may be a valid question in the vain of "there are no dumb questions," but it's uniformed. Especially considering its already been posted more than once.

0 chance of that happening, especially to strengthen another contending team in the conference. IF, and that is a huge if...if you were to move Gallop it needs to be for a player who can help you out in 2020, and you would need to get another receiver to take his spot as well.

And i really don't think it is out of the question that he gets resigned.

How about you do it? Give it a shot.

There are many reasons: What if Lamb doesn’t pan out, God forbid? You don’t trade a valuable player this early and usually never. He’s built good chemistry with Dak, why ruin it? The more weapons you have, the greater chance you have of going deep into the postseason. We need all the firepower we have to sustain shootouts with the likes of KC and other high scoring offenses. Trading a young proven player for an unknown is an unnecessary risk. When you hit on a skill player, you keep him as long as possible. We want to win now, trading Gallup sets us back. What if one of the other productive receivers goes down? Now you got two holes to fill with lesser talent. Some might contend Dak needs to be surrounded with talent to succeed. It’s just too premature. You typically trade a player towards the end of their career unless they serve no purpose such as scheme fits....

No, why weaken a position of strength? Plus we have him at his rookie deal two more years.
