Sanders. He changes the entire defense...and special teams. When is the last time opposing teams were terrified to kick in our receiver's direction?

This is a fun exercise and thought it might make a cool debate.

If you could bring back one past player from the Cowboys and inject him into this year's team in his prime for this season only, who would it be?

As I mulled over the question, a lot of guys came to mind. I thought about the QBs of the past and while I would love to see Aikman's surgical accuracy with this team, I don't think we gain that much improvement.

I would love to see Michael Irvin back, but WR is already a strenght.

There are a lot of great linemen in Cowboys' past, but our line is already good.

So for me it came down to four possibilities:

Charles Haley
Demarcus Ware
Darren Woodson
Deion Sanders

And I decided on Sanders. I know we added a lot to the QB room, but I think Sanders locking down one side of the field would be lot of fun to watch.

If Michael Irvin played today's game, he'd be an average receiver, you can't push off defenders anymore, Irvin got away with that all the time because it wasn't called like the game is today..

not even a close call, Nobody comes close to Deion Sanders, he's the best cornerback to have ever played, he shuts down one half the field by taking away another teams best receiver..

Staubach - in his prime...in today's NFL...he would be lights out.

Yeah, QBs have it good today with the physical specimens we have at OL. Back then Roger has 2 seconds to throw if lucky. He had until the end of his drop. Get the ball out or it's over. Offensive lineman back then were run blockers. They got in the way at best against a pass rush.

Be a toss up on offense between Aikman and Roger probably Roger
defense is a bit harder Prime has to be considered or Lilly or Randy White. Even Ed too tall would be good.

Aikman on offense.

Randy White on defense.

Wait a minute...Lilly. Can I please get him too?

Championship.

In today’s game Randy White wouldn’t be able to play on the DL at 257 pounds which was his playing weight. We tried him at LB his rookie year and he couldn’t play the position.
