Realistically only the Jags would pay him anything around $30 million

Gary Myers here in NY has always been a Cowboy hater. Like Dak or not, he certainly be very attractive on the open market and command 30 million a season. That is was the market dicates at this juncture. Hell, Cousins signed an extension for even more then that annual number.

You got to love the NY Media, they flat out said that the Giant job was more attractive cause they have a real franchise QB. Why did MM turn them down? Didn't the Giants win just 4 games? I don't want to hear about them having a bad defense. Dak in his rookie year lead the team to the playoffs and went head to head against Rodgers in the playoffs. Has Jones played under any pressure to win? Please....

Now that Dalton's on board, Dak's price may go down.
I doubt it....he is nto threatened by Dalton and in fact he may Dare Jones and not sign the franchise until 6th game of the season, saying go win with Dalton.....who is 0-5 in the playoffs and 32!

Most teams got their QB in the draft. Only team that passed up a QB early was Jacksonville. They might pay Dak a lot. But they could get Cam for way cheaper. I can’t think of another team.
cam, who has now been injured the past 2 years and going down hill fast!!! and still on the market and all these teams signed everyone but him....that Newton? I guess we are garbage collectors now....

Dalton has NEVER been in an offense this loaded, its not even close to the best team they ever had in Cincy. Cincy drafted Burrow because they wanted a QB on a rookie deal. They manage their team on P&L and not W&L
he has had some great HOF type player son his team....and I find it funny, people like you knock Zeke as he has lost it and he is not that good, lets not sign him, argue vehemently that Cooper is not a top 15 WR in the league and we shouldn't pay him, argue we should replace Smith because he is a shell of himself, then turn around and argue we have so much talent....its really funny

Dalton has had some very good talent on his team, never could get over the top, folded when it mattered and is 0-5 in the playoffs.....

btw, Dak with the talent he had, like Witten and the mid tier Cooper, produced the top offense, #2 passing offense, #6 scoring offense....

but but but, in the 3rd quarter of the jets game, in the second series, he showed he is not a good player, by throwing 3 bad passes that were behind the WR.....wah wah wah blah blah blah

Oh. Good. Random sports writer from NEW YORK thinks Dak is only a good QB, not worth 30 million. - Dak haters thinks its lock solid evidence.

Hall of Fame QBs Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach - Dak is the man pay him whatever he wants, Dak haters - ehhhh what do they know!!!

That, my friends, is confirmation bias at is most hideous form.
LOL, Gary Myers is not some random writer. You should of looked him up before posting.

Dak pumpers be like:

boohoo.gif~c200

make sure you save this gif for when Dak does in fact get his long term deal with the cowboys and then you see the real crying start from the people who want him gone.

because that is what’s going to happen

0-5 yes, but he got to the playoffs 5 times, with the BENGALS. That's almost like getting there 5 times with the Browns. And as we've seen, 32 isn't exactly old for a QB.

Dak played well enough in his rookie year to earn the starter status . But he is not elite . He is 1-6 last year against winning teams , and has accuracy issues , which he has not been able to shake off . My point is that he is a 4th rounder who is the QB of the most valuable franchise . The offer he got (35 mil) is top 2-3 in the NFL . This team and fans have given him every chance and support . It seems he does not appreciate it . And reality will hit him soon if he doesn’t wake up . If Dalton does well in camp , Dak will be booed the next time he chokes , and the controversy cycle begins .
so is 2019, the year we measure all QBs and ignore anything prior to 2019? just want ot make sure we get it right for the sake of argument........

Eli won 2 Super Bowls , and many playoff and crucial games , and a respected leader . Not much to compare now with Dak ( no Super Bowls , 1-6 against winning teams last year , greedy and arrogant , skipping practice with a new coach etc )
yet Eli was thought of as average and when he got his first contract redo, he was the highest paid QB and player in the league and people said he will never win a superbowl, giants will be doomed, etc...he won two!!!

He’s going to get $30M average per year. I don’t think that’s the problem with negotiations. The real Thing is the guaranteed money and length of contract.

He’s been way underpaid so some of the money will be to make up for that. Players know when they’ve given the team way more value than their current contract and look to correct some of that in the next contract. It is what it is.

In 2019 Dak was just 2 yards away from breaking the Cowboys all-time record for passing yards in a season...

Either Dak is great or Jason Garrett was a great Head Coach with a great offensive scheme.

Considering Dak's accomplishments, if he only has average talent, the Garrett had to have been super awesome.

In reality Dak has had great accomplishments with a HC and offensive scheme that should only be in middle school, not in the NFL
you know this is a great point, all these dak detractors, never mention Garrett, although they complained for years, with 1000s of anti garrett posts. either garrett was a great coach, winning and producing offenses with the average talent like Dak or Dak is a great QB winning with a coach like Garrett, can't have it both ways....

he was in the league for 10 years...… you expect Dak to have gone to the playoffs 5 times in 4 years? Dak has played in 3 playoff games..... if not for incompetent coaching should have beat GB and be better prepared for Rams....

its not about getting to playoffs, its about winning in playoffs. Dalton hasn't come close at all...failure after failure, after failure, after failure after failure

It only takes one team to pay a QB what they think he's worth. I suspect there's at least one that would pay Dak $30 mil, especially since the Cowboys have reportedly already exceeded that amount in a contract offer. It's been said he's been offered well in excess of that amount but that's likely more speculative guesswork than fact. We won't know for sure until such time as it's been officially released.

Meyers was speaking to all recent QB signings. Dak hasn't been paid anything yet. Eli has been mediocre at best during his career. He did catch lightening in a bottle with 2007 playoff run, but was nothing spectacular overall.
cousins just got paid 33 mill a year...in 5 years, he has gotten 84+66 mill contract...that's a whopping 152 mill guaranteed....
