Guess they liked Thorsen over Rush, or it was just to save the cap space as well.

Probably avoiding being on the hook for that 2.1 if he got hurt. Amazing how many guys have issues when they see the writing on the wall.

Can't you have a 3rd QB on the gameday roster now? Pretty sure you can dress one, but if he plays one snap, he can't come out unless he's injured.

I think that's right, but he still takes up a team roster spot that the Cowboys may not want to use on Rush now that Dalton is signed.

He’ll make room for him for no other reason than to help install their offense. Especially in a season with a shortened training camp.
