Comparing QB's from different offenses doesn't work. Wentz hasn't had the skill positions Prescott has had, the OL's were about equal and Wentz had a better D but I have these two QB's in the same grouping in that 9-15 group and I only use stats as a measurement when I haven't watched them play.

In the durability part, Prescott is hands down the winner and not only against Wentz but about every QB that's played 4 full seasons. There are QB's that have stayed as healthy but they haven't taken the hits that Prescott has. With Prescott, a team doesn't have to focus on the backup, with Wentz, that's a primary focus because it's not if, it's when.

So CC, do you think Wince passes the eye test with a better grade than Dak? Everybody can answer this, not just CC. (I think Wince looks better in almost all skill phases of the game). Dallas has generally been the better team when they met.

How is Wentz's contract a bad contract?

Yes it was a good deal. They could easily got out of this year if they didn't exercise the option. His cap hit would of gone up 13mil but then no dead cap in 2021.

Its easy to get out of in a few years and his max cap hit is only 34 mil

I don't think there's any doubt that Wentz passes the eye test better than Dak, but that should be expected from a guy who was the #2 pick in the draft. Dak has a tendency to throw balls that force the receiver to have to slow down or jump to make the catch. If you go back and watch our games from last year (was watching the Commanders game last night), he'll throw a beautiful ball and then follow it up with a few terrible throws. He just needs to get more consistent and he'll be a fantastic QB.

Just because philly gave a bad contract doesn’t mean Dallas should!
How cool would it be to see a franchise re set the market price?
A franchise with some balls that's says hell no,, we are not paying top end for middle of the pack talent, just because every body else does.
Wouldn't that be something.

Its so funny how Dallas has all this talented but if you rewind 2 years ago.......Allen Hurns and Cole Beasley were his quarterbacks.

Not only that but Gallup was a 3rd round pick who no one thought anything of. Amari Cooper was so bad in Oakland that people said we traded too much to get him. Randall Cobb was so bad in Green Bay they let him walk despite only having one good receiver on the roster in Davante Adams.....but now that those guys look good with Dak now they are all "talented" now even though all of them for the most part were players other teams didn't want.

Allen Hurns and Cole Beasley aren't quarterbacks.

As if they aren’t from the same draft class, so their careers can’t be compared directly. As if Dak hasn’t beaten the breaks off of Wentz’s career overall.

Just thought I’d compare their full CAREERS, you know... instead of cherry-picking a tiny 5-game sample size?

Enjoy!!!

Seasons ended with an injury:
Wentz: 3
Dak: 0

Playoff wins:
Wentz: 0
Dak 1

Career record:
Wentz: 32-24
Dak: 40-24

Career head-to-head:
Wentz: 3-4
Dak: 4-3

Career comp %:
Wentz: 63.8
Dak: 65.8

Career yds/attempt:
Wentz: 6.9
Dak: 7.6

Career AIR yds/attempt (so much for “dink and Dak”):
Wentz: 7.1
Dak: 7.8

Career yds/completion:
Wentz: 10.8
Dak: 11.6

Career passer rating:
Wentz: 92.7
Dak: 97.0

Playoff pass yards:
Wentz: 3
Dak: 794
:lmao2:

If you’re upset at the money Dak will soon be making and you want someone to blame... look no further than Carson “Charmin-Soft” Wentz.

OF COURSE Dak won’t take less than the soft, injury-prone QB he’s thoroughly outplayed since entering the league.

Anyone that thinks Dak isn't gonna get his money or that he's earned it, is not a football guy. Just clueless fans. Y que????

One guy has more talent around him than any QB in the league, the other is surrounded by guys who weren't even on the team when the season started. Wentz is the better QB, he can succeed without elite talent around him. With Dak, if one player around him is injured, he falls apart.

But on the other hand, if anyone else on the team falls apart,he gets injured.

Without question, the one area where Dak kills Wentz is durability. Some guys just know how to take a hit, clearly Wentz hasn't evolved that part of his game and Dak definitely has.

And that's an important trait. Look at Emmitt. He just seemed to always take glancing hits. A small turn one way or the other kept him on the field far longer than most. We can't dismiss durability.

Dak just happens to be the QB for the team I support, my hesitance to pay him isn't just him, I don't like paying MOST QB's in the league $35 - $40 million a year. If you're talking about Wilson, Mahomes, someone like that, you almost don't have a choice, but guys like Wentz, Dak, Goff... I'd rather just go with a Dalton type and beef up the rest of the 21 guys on the roster.

And honestly, the Eagles will likely come to regret paying him, just like we will if we pay Dak.

The Eagles are happy with the draft position and salary they gave up to get him, for the performance they got.

You said Jalen Hurts, right?

Are you saying they're wrong to try and solidify the backup QB position? So many people call for best player available on draft day, if it happens to be a QB, I'm all for it.
