How about YOU explain how Dak’s stats lead YOU to believe he is as good as you think he is.

Ive stated my case (numerous times) as to why his numbers this past season dont fool me. Why dont you post your case for him being worthy of $35m+
Why don't you go back and find one post where I said he was worth $35m+... Then I can defend that post.

The problem with the argument Dallas should have signed Dak last year is the reports that once Dak had a great start to the season his agent moved the goalposts and asked for one of the top salaries in the NFL. We don't really know, but if that is true Dallas played it right in waiting.

The Cowboys have been lowballing the whole time. The Cowboys have not even matched Goff's contract in guaranteed money and that should have been the offer a year ago the moment Goff signed. It makes all the sense in the world that Dak's prove would do up if he played great, just like the Cowboys would go down in price if he played bad.

Because they know he isn't a franchise QB. They've proven that they have no reservations paying players that they think are high-level players, he's just not one of them in their mind.

He ran the second most routes amongst RBs in the league last year on a top 3 offense. What'd that result in? Only the 9th most receptions, and the 11th most yards.

Below-average was being nice.
Probably because Dak was slinging the ball downfield more as opposed to checking down

One of the problems we have is that somehow people think Dak “balled out” last season.

Dak was not that good.

There were some improvements in his technique but he inflated his numbers on bad teams and gave us nothing against good teams.
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:He came within 1 yard of setting the all time Cowboy passing record. And you say he’s not that good!!! :lmao2::lmao::lmao2::lmao::lmao2: Thanks for outing yourself. I’m still laughing at the ignorance.:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

This is why so many of us were frustrated when we didn't get a deal done last off-season.

... while simultaneously not extending your franchise QB was huge mistake.

So many talk like the Cowboys never made Dak an offer last year. The number I keep hearing is that Dak was offered 33mil early last season.

That was overpaying him. And still, Dak wouldn't sign.

How much were they *supposed* to offer Dak last year, and what evidence do we have that he would have taken the deal?

Who here was calling for them to offer Dak *more* than 33mil last year? I recall much *lower* numbers being bandied about.

:muttley:Dak is not or ever will be on the same talent level of ROMO....snap out of it man!!!
Yeah, Dak will never have a 6 turnover gem against one of the worst defenses in the league with a Hall of Fame wide receiver and future Hall of Fame tight end. Winning that Buffalo game was strictly on Romo’s will.

Just a couple of questions here. If the Cowboys don't think Dak is a franchise QB, then 1) Why did they use the exclusive franchise tag (valued at roughly $33 mil and making it so no other team could negotiate with him) instead of the non-exclusive franchise tag (valued at roughly $28 mil which would have allowed other teams to negotiate with him)? 2) Why haven't they rescinded the tag and just said Dalton is the new starting QB on a deal worth a maximum of $7 mil with only $3 mil guaranteed?

The Cowboys played the odds and lost. There was always the possibility that Dak could get better and demand increase.

Parcells was very precient when he and Jerry locked down Romo early to avoid this kind of mess. All they had to do when Romo's contract came up again was extended based on production and market value

Cowboys gambled and lost the leverage

Cowboys didn't gamble, they have been trying to sign him for two years now. Dak is the one that has waiting all this time to get exactly what he wants. Dak has been betting on himself and winning. He wants to continue to do that.

I'm not really a stats guy either. What really concerned me about Dak this past season is that he really regressed in clutch moments. in the past he always seemed to step up his game when everything mattered more. This past year not so much. That's a disturbing trend after 4 years.

You mean when he brought us all the way down for the winning score and Garrett had them goto Zeke three times in a row and kill the drive? Stuff like that?

And which clutch moments exactly are you talking about? I would love to go over them.

Some people? You mean most people?

The reality is there is really just a handful of trolls that say otherwise.

Cherry pick much?

Dak Hater Filter.....Nonsense.

If the numbers were inflated and Dak's production didn't give us anything then Dak wouldn't get an exclusive Franchise Tag and today Stephen Jones confirmed....No rescinding exclusive Franchise Tag!!!

Your opinion doesn't mesh with FACTS OR REALITY...

you are a Dak Hater....wear it with pride

That's funny... Dak has won as many playoff games as Romo in half the time.

Dak's off field $$ endorsement equals Romo QB contract total guarantees

Your talent meter is broken....or should I say your eye test is flawed....

Do you promise to show up after Dak signs contract?

In 2017 I was one of a very few members in the old Cowboys forums to question if Dak was truly our future.
Today I am not ALONE so having me leave this wonderful forum will not ease your distaste for reality!
We are many today as we have eyes and intelligence and know a bum QB when we see one.
Even if that BUM QB is ours!!!!:omg:

Lol..

Dude Dak had like 4 games without a TD pass and in our big games the offense was nowhere to be found.
