I don't think Watson is better than Dak. But I think Brees is, so that 6-9 is OK with me.

Nah, his rant doesn't make sense at all. It simply shows an uneducated, naïve point of view on how QB's get paid.

Do you think is Dak worth what he's asking? Personally?

Forget what other QBs are making.

Let's try to have an adult conversation. Without snide remarks or insults. I know how market economics work and am well aware of supply and demand so let's dispense with the whole "you disagree so you're a dumb dumb" narrative.

Nonsense. This video reinforces that Dak isn't worth what's he's asking which is to be paid like he's not only a top 5 QB but like he's the #1 QB.

Being critical of paying him that kind of money doesn't make you a troll. I disagree with you strongly on Zeke but that's your opinion and doesn't make you wrong or a troll.

I'm all for keeping Dak if the price is right. Otherwise he can walk his arse right out the door and see if any other team comes calling at the price he's asking.

So what is your "right price"?

Zeke is another conversation. I have never claimed Zeke is average. I have always agreed he is one of the better backs. That being said the RB position should not be paid like that ever.

That is my stance. Nothing trollish about it. Though you could call me a Zeke hater and you would be right on the money. However I root for the guy and I know he can ball.

An opinion. Pointless thread. Half will agree, half will argue.

I reckon most would agree that 5-9 (good-but not elite) is a fair assessment.

As the post above mentions he's definately not: Rogers, Wilson, Mahomes, Jackson.

[Stephen Jones] is absolutely right. No quarterback who has been the top paid guy has ever won the Super Bowl in this century, which is already two decades old. It just doesn’t happen, and if someone’s going to break the mold and say, ‘To hell with it, we’re going to pay this guy,’ boy, that guy better be able to carry a team, like Patrick Mahomes … Dak Prescott ain’t Patrick Mahomes.”

NO. I don't think any QB is worth 35 million. But if the top guys are getting 35 million than I think 33 million is market. What Goff and Wince are getting.

But I definitely do NOT cut Dak over 2 million dollars. Now if he wants 38 million or something like that, then I let him hold out. Let him rot. Would have done the same thing to Zeke. Play Pollard. So play Dalton.

And if he still holds out, let him stay out the entire season or trade him.

Cutting him is simply business stupid.

I also don't let him hold out over 1 year. I probably take it all the way to the very bitter end until TC starts and try to get him to sign for 5 years at 35 million. If he wont compromise, then I sign him for 4 years at 35 million. And in that 4 years time I continue to develop and draft young QB's.

This whole situation is Jerry's fault by the way.

You can't have an intelligent conversation with cavemen, unfortunately who doesn't realize that the most recent contract will always exceed contracts signed years ago even if he is not as good as the guys paid a little bit less than him. And... I also think his contract is gonna be a little bit less than Wilson's..... so maybe he'll be 2nd highest paid.
Latest news suggest Dak is asking for 37 mil per year now....FYI

Still the stubborn Romo cry babies hang on. And look worse and worse as time goes by doing it.

Some people have no shame.
I’m not even sure why they are mad at Dak for what happened to Romo. Romo takes a dumb chance in a totally meaningless preseason game but Daks the bad guy because how dare he take o ear for Romo.

I think the Dak vs Deshaun conversation should be had because I think Dak is right there with him. But Rodgers, Wilson, Lamar and Mahomes is understandable. Those guys are where we want Dak to get to.

He also reminds us that Derek Carr was the highest paid player in the nfl. It's how the qb market works. I love Dak as our qb but i wish the owners would stop chucking ridiculous money at the position. But it's hard to argue with market forces.

Lamar has better running skills. That's it.

Only Jones didn't say that.

Where is that? I believe what Simms just said. 35 million and then he wants some crazy amount for the 5th year.

The funny thing is this thread could’ve just as easily been titled, “Chris Simms: Dak is the 6th-9th best QB.”

Lots of guys aren’t “top 5”. The 6-9 title spells out Simms’ exact opinion on Dak.

That would’ve upset some people.

By the way...……...if all you got out of that video is that the message was that Dak is NOT a top 5 QB, then you are truly a troll. That video just supported every Dak fan and supporter on here and threw egg on the face of every Dak hating troll.

Just saying...………...that was word for word, the Dak supporter argument to a T. All the way to QB's like Goff and to how QB's get paid.
You said that already just a few posts up. Man you are one insecure troll...

Great podcast...

Like I've been saying fans are projecting their CBA restrictions onto Dak's contract negotiations whom is just following the QB norms.

Owners should get smart and bring players back to table during the current playable CBA.

They think fining players in new CBA will help....the Agents and Companies have $$ to hold down deserving players..players are not at the table starving

We are only a couple of years removed from Le'Veon Bell but his hold out will be regarded as a pivotal moment decades from now.

They were Romo lovers that wanted him to "get his shot". So they were cutting up Dak and saying how bad he was. When push came to shove they looked silly. So they keep trying to push that agenda because they cant accept they were dead wrong in their assessment.

I personally couldn't care less what other QBs get. I want a SB win and all evidence points to this team not winning one if they pay Dak what he wants.

Now to be clear this is just MHO. I've no illusions about Dak and the Cowboys. I'm fairly certain he'll be signed before the deadline and I hope I'm proven wrong.
Ah the old, if we pay him my team won’t win the Super Bowl, first off you need to put away your illusion that you have any insight into the future. Secondly your claim only holds water if the moment Dak signs the salary cap and the qb market become frozen - that isn’t happening now is it? Salary cap will go up and Dak will play under the label of highest paid an until the next guy gets paid more.

Lastly your prediction of being unable to win anything also makes sense if the Cowboys had no talent. It isn’t like Aikmans final years as a Cowboy where he was the QBs getting paid a huge salary and they had no means of surrounding him with anything because of salary cap issues.

A 26-year-old that is somewhere among the top 6-9 QBs in the league, despite having JG as his coach? Wow. Very impressive. Can you imagine what he will do with MM as his coach?
