He had played reasonably well in several previous starts.

Don't ignore facts that don't fit you narrative.

Who cares what he did in preseason. After the 2nd sack adjustments should have been made. It's what all coaches do. Before you try to flex your keyboard muscles you should think it through fully.

If this has been posted, I apologize, but my goodness

What in the Wide World of Sports was a'goin on in this game

that was Dak's fault. he shouldn't have allowed those sacks. Lamar Jackson wouldn't allow those sacks.....that shows you how incompetent he is not being able to avoid sacks....;)

That's how I'd describe it. "Acceptable". Hardly good like Abe is trying to make it sound.......

Leading up to that game there were plenty of Cowboys fans trying to say that Green was a good player and capable. That Atlanta game shut up most of them. So badly that they now won't even admit they said anything.

I'm actually shocked that Abe is still trying to make excuses for him.

At the time I couldn't fathom what happened. Maybe it was arrogance that Chaz Green can play. But looking back...just another prime example of incompetent coaching. And some fans will tell you blaming Garrett is a cop out but that game was arguably the biggest stain on his career. He sat there time and time again watching Dak get killed by this guy. Completely buried Chaz Green and almost did the same to Dak. Chaz Green was a young player at the time and Dak was in his second year. Should've protected him more that game.
Chaz Green shouldn’t have even been signed as a UDFA let alone a FREAKING 3RD ROUND PICK!!!

That was one of the many games that showed what an inferior head coach Garrett was. He expressed all kinds of confidence in Green heading into that game. He defended him after the game. He pointed out that he played well at times and at certain times he didn’t play as well as he would’ve liked to. Garrett refused to say Green played terrible. He would never go there. It was one of several games that season where we were unable to adjust at halftime. We lost Sean Lee in that game and our defense fell apart. We could never adjust to losing a key player. The loss of Zeke during his suspension completely derailed that season.

One of Garrett's many weaknesses was his in game adjustments.

I remember screaming "GIVE HIM SOME BLEEPING HELP" over and over.
Possibly the worst individual game performance I've seen from a Cowboys Player.
Definitely the worst individual game performance I've seen from a Cowboys coaching staff.

Wasn't cooper the LG that game also. Do I think Green sucked yes but I think it was a case of tolerance stacking on the left side, Smith and Frederick probably helped that leftside a good bit but throw in a Chaz Green with Jonathan Cooper there just was not enough talent collectively on the left side.

That wasn't Cooper getting beat on that film. It was Green and Byron Bell. Two guys with no business lining up at left tackle. But the Cowboys 'brain trust' thought differently and we saw how that worked out.
