Shannon will get criticized here, but it doesn't sound like he's trying to state the obvious, but just responding to those who think that Dak has regressed because the Cowboys' record has.
I agree that Dak's made great strides. Right now I think he's just trying to find that balance between managing the game and taking risks down the field. Ultimately, Dak seems to be a lot of the player Dallas drafted in the first place. A "project" (more so than a first round QB with superior arm talent to bail them out), not a finished product. If you look at his pre-draft weaknesses, a lot of it sounds familiar.
"Pocket poise has been compromised. Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw. Concern over pressure too often trumps ability to get through progressions."
^^^Easy to see how that infamous Atlanta game really derailed his development, isn't it? But luckily, after that minor detour, I think he's back on track. I mean honestly, after watching his conservative style of play his first 2-3 seasons, who imagined he'd be a 4,900 yard passer in his 4th?
