I am unable to argue this with you as I do not actually know, only going by the number of times I f-bombed during games. I tried, unsuccessfully, to google the info but found nothing. could you provide a link, just for my interest. if you are correct, I stand corrected. that would be a most impressive stat.

Career advanced stats - 3rd down

Then just go deduct the total from 2016-2019 from Dak

Romo would've been down again in no time flat. Anyone not living in denial knows this.

I don't care if he only played for 2 games then got hurt again you play your best players when they are healthy if you want to win, so again make your argument why you think Dak was better as a rookie than Romo

Over 2 out of every 3 of Wittens 3rd down receptions from Romo were for a first down - how about those 3rd down conversion numbers!

Yet with Dak it is not even 50%

Espn sheeple!

Get a clue!
in fairness, dak got the slowest version of witten ever. father time waits for no man.

Bet you Romo giving us a lead with under 2- 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter and the D blowing that lead happenned way more often than Romo ever throwing a game ending pick...just a guess but i would bet money on it...big money

He is tied at 17th for most 4 qtr comebacks. Only 5 games form top 10. Finding how many times the defense fudged it up might be hard stat to find. Maybe looking for how many teams had late game winning scores?

No difference between offensive lines either! Or running games! Dak has major consistency in both key areas. And still looked really awesome against the Eagles! What an amazing performance! Worth every penny! Pay him whatever he wants!

I don;t buy it either. The thing is....Dak gave Romo a lot of time to heal. It's what a backup is supposed to do. Dallas never really had that luxury and Tony often played hurt or not fully healed, which got him more injured! . This BS "he woulda got injured again anyway" is just Romo-hating excuse.

dak was the hot hand. the decision to keep him the starter was made by coaches even asking certain players how they felt about the situation. the players were in favor of keeping dak the starter. even jerry, who earlier said the job was romo's when he returned from injury butted out and let dak be the man.

I get this argument and it is the only one the team can use and it does have some validity to it, However the team was built for Romo not for Dak and nobody can debate that the offense would have been better with Romo as the QB. Thinking a rookie with no experience was going to lead a team to the SB was insane. Players were not given a choice or asked as to who they wanted as their QB but certain players were asked to get behind the decision that was made

Dak played better than expected as a rookie and the Cowboys saw a way to let Romo go and get out of his deal, they took it, and that's what happenned but in no way shape or form was Dak a better QB than Romo as a rookie. You would think the Dak crowd would at least be trying to make that argument now after 4 years he is better than Romo was but to suggest he was a better QB than Romo in 2016 is just insane

it is not always that easy to quantify who is your best player. drew bledsoe got injured, tom brady took his place. when bledsoe returned, belichik decided to keep brady the starter. rest is history.

Romo had a pretty dam good game vs the Pack in 2015, beautiful clutch 4th down ball to Dez with 4 minutes left that should have broken the Packers back, of course we all know how that ended.

it was a great pass no doubt but the reversal was the correct call as much as I hated it. Beasley was open underneath could have kept drive going

besides even had the Dez catch counted there was still time left for the pack and the defense was folding like a hot knife through butter

Brady wasn't a rookie at that point and had some experience in the NFL and a full year in BB system and a couple of training camps

The decision to keep Dak was pure superstition. "we're on a win streak we aren;t gonna jinx it".

I forgot how well Romo controlled the trajectory of his passes. That was a big factor in some of the RAC yardage that a lot of his WRs got and why some of those TDs were actually TDs.
Exactly. I have been trying to tell people there is more to "accuracy" than simply heaving the ball at the receiver. Velocity arc "trajectory". Refreshing to see someone else understand it.
