Look man, keep saying whatever you want but in 4 seasons Dak has a career record of 40 Wins and 24 Losses........in the last 2 season Dak led Dallas to a 7-1 record against the Commanders and Giants, 2 teams that are obviously crappy and rebuilding.

So in other words Dak has led Dallas to a career record of 33 Wins and 23 Losses outside of the Giants and Commanders the last 2 seasons. So applaud Dak all you want but to me he has yet to prove himself to be anything more than a QB that feasts on poor teams and comes up short against good teams.

You understand that a 33-23 record, when excluding divisional opponents is.... REALLY FREAKING GOOD RIGHT?

That's a 59% win %. The only QBs with a higher % with at least a season? Jimmy G, Lamar, Mahomes, Brady, Wilson, Ben, Rodgers, Watson. That's it. That's when you cherry pick to exclude a 7-1 record.

Hopefully you are smarter after this conversation. Have a good one!

Edit: this doesn't mean I endorse using QB record as a good tool to evaluate QB performance, because it is actually one of the worst out there. But sheep will be sheep.

You said Dak isn't a top 10 QB as your "fact" lol, who are the top 10 then?

Come on man. Let’s not pretend the cowboys are the only team that plays some crappy teams on their schedule.

Every division has at least one basement dweller most seasons. I get that the skins and giants have been very bad the last couple years. But you can’t just remove wins from the cowboys without breaking down every other teams record and adjusting it for quality of opponent. If you want to be fair.

You just don't know much about NFL football and divisional rivalry games where records don't matter. Remember when the 1-15 Cowboys only win was against the Commanders when they were undefeated at the time? Doesn't fit your narrative does it. And pull your panties out with the grammar lessons. No one cares. Just makes you look weak.

The "against winning teams" is yet another on my list of misused/overused phrases that conveniently attribute wins and losses to just one player. Silly.

You only need a kicker when the big dogs can't get it done.

If you ran the 49ers, Vikings, Lions, Eagles, would you have given their respective QBs extensions/deals?

49ers: absolutely not as Garoppolo did nothing but tease the 49ers with his 5-0 record after being traded from NE and was not worth the money he was paid but having traded for him SF locked themselves into a forced extension

Vikings: Cousins signed a 2-year extension this off season and will count $21M and $31M against the cap the next 2 seasons with an obvious out in 2022 with a cap hit of $45M and dead money of $10M so the Vikings were correct in signing him to an affordable contract

Lions: Stafford signed a 5-year $135M extension in 2017 and hasn't done anything for Detroit in terms of playoff advancement; while I am not a fan of his, the contract tops out at a $33M cap hit of $33M in 2021 with an easy out the year after; that said I would have sought to trade him before the extension and seek a new QB

Eagles: Wentz was given an extension in part because he was drafted #2 overall in the 2016 draft; that said he signed a 4-year $128M extension in 2019 just a year prior to going into his 5th year rookie option

The problem with teams is that they place themselves in a position to where they are desperate at having a franchise QB that they all too often sign QB's to large extensions who do not deserve it in the least.

The thing is I could easily say he was 1-6 against playoff teams last season or that he led Dallas to ZERO game winning drives or that he compiled a lot of this win % and positive stats against just the Giants & Commanders the last two seasons but then of course you and the rest of the Dak lovers will call me a hater because I am questioning your precious Dak all while blaming the Dallas defense, the coaching staff, the eather, the Tooth Fairy, and every other excuse......so why bother trying to engage in an honest debate.
looking at those very stats in a vaccum is bad...how about the stats Brady, Brees, Wilson, etc. collected against really bad teams? how did Rodgers do against Detroit for two years...or Brady against Jets and Dolphins? or Brees against Tampa and Carolina.... you talk as if Dak is the only QB ever to accumulate stats against bad teams......we also know the stats about record against teams with winning records....
and what about lack of coaching? why aren't you talking about that?

but Grapolo went to the superbowl and his team was winning until a big mahomes comeback?

Cousins has led the Vikings to playoffs.....

every team is desparate to have a franchise QB...that's the name of the game....and its the market for the QBs.....if they are all performing the same and not meeting your expectations, then you have unrealistic expectations for QBs and their contracts..... the market sets the value, despite what you think...

Where did you hear he was asking for 40-45 mill per year?
Various news outlets. I don’t care if he is asking for the moon, I just want this to be over with and for it to be fair for both sides. I like Dak and think he can be a very good qb for the Cowboys especially with MM as HC.

I bet he didn't factor in that we played Washington and NY twice.

Rodgers....won a Super Bowl

Wentz....won a Super Bowl

Dak....ummmm

Brees....won a Super Bowl (in his 9th season - did not win a playoff game until his 6th)

Rodgers....won a Super Bowl (in his 6th starting season - was allowed to sit & develop for 3 years bf starting)

Wentz....won a Super Bowl (LOL)

DAK (his 1 playoff win in his first 4 years is more than any of above QBs)

Our defense had a grand total of 4 takeaways in 8 losses averaging a whopping .5 takeaways per game.

Darn you Dak!!!
Yes, we cannot obtain and keep defensive talent with your average QB asking for 15%+ of your salary cap.
