Not this guy I wanted Dak in the 16 draft as high as the 2nd round. He only fell because of the dui which was later dismissed. Starkville, MS real shocker there. I have texts to my brother saved during the draft after round 1 we need to take Dak. Anyone that followed his team his junior and senior year knows he was a baller.

When we drafted Dak I immediately told friends, family co workers that Romo better not get hurt because he won't get his job back. When Romo got injured during that preseason game my phone was blowing up. I like to think me and Gil see eye to eye on this one
100% agree bro. I followed Dak since his sophomore season at Mississippi State. Dak is a baller who hates to lose and is always improving his game. I was ecstatic when the Cowboys luckily were able to grab him so late in the 4th round after Jerry's several failed attempts to pick up two other QBs previously. I knew the Cowboys luckily had found a gem.

Really (in bold^^^)??? What games have you been watching the past 4 years? Certainly doesn't sound like you've been watching Cowboys games. If you had, you would know Dak has greatly improved his throwing ability, has consistently been in the top 5 in just about every QB statistical category, and he has definitely led this team to wins against some elite teams with top defenses.
You’re about as bad a liar as the CowboyRoy troll. He hasn’t been consistently in the “top 5” in anything except number of All-Pros needed to prop him up. Heck, his 2017 and 2018 seasons alone were the two worst seasons by a Cowboys QB in 15 years. Please stop lying, even a three year old can do a 30 second search on pro football reference and debunk this nonsense.

Not sure what games you we were watching but we were 0-5 last year against teams who won 10 games or more. Lol

In our 8 losses we averaged 15 points a game. In 3 of those losses didn’t even put up a TD.

Yea, I know all about those statistical categories. Just like the arguments for Romo. Both are greatest passer ratings in Cowboy history. Doesn’t impress me in pass happy era.

I commend you for backing down meekly, and not doubling down on the lies like the CowboyRoy troll. You’re doing a good job adapting to your place in the hierarchy... at the bottom. Acceptance is the key to happiness.

Geez now I have got to thinkin

Didnt Morton take us to the SB that we lost to the Colts wasn't he on the team and played some games in the season we won our 1st SB against the Dolphins and didn't he take Denver to a SB in his late 30s that he lost to us .

If Romo or Dak win a playoff game the fan base is giddy what if they actually sniffed a SB they would be immortalized .

Just saying Morton happened a long time ago but it shouldn't diminish his accomplishments . Granted they are not earth shattering but greater than Dak or Romo .

You would be hard-pressed to find someone in the history of the world that knows more about football, and specifically the Dallas Cowboys, than Pro Football hall of Famer Gil Brandt. When Mr. Brandt speaks, people listen. He remains one of the most influential voices in the NFL community and has one of the greatest scouting eyes that the game has ever seen.

    • Roger Staubach
    • Troy Aikman
    • Danny White
    • Tony Romo
Mr. Brandt has both Prescott and Romo in his top five, but the former at third and the latter at fifth.

Spots one and two are taken by Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman, respectively, and Danny White even makes an appearance at number four. It truly is fascinating that Prescott would not only outrank Romo just four seasons in, but Danny White, too. It says a lot about how impressive Dak Prescott’s career has been to this point in time.

Let the fun begin...

Yeah, the guy that hasn't thrown a TD pass in 1/4 of his games is better than Romo

That’s probably because he hasn’t thrown 1/4 the INTs Romo threw. Compare all the turnovers Romo had his first four seasons as the starter compared to Dak his first 4 seasons. The year Romo passed for just under 5000 yards he tied a career high with 19 INTs. Dak only had 11 INTs this past season passing for just under 5000 yards. Dak provides TDs with his arm and legs. He’s had 18 rushing TDs.

Gil is 87. Bless his heart.

I have relatives that are in their late 80s. They throw trash down the laundry shoot, put detergent in the dryer, and leave the oven on.

We don't let them cross the street by themselves.
LMAO

Danny White was a good QB but he inherited some terrific teams. Like Romo he was far too turnover prone. During White’s most productive season he passed for just under 4000 yards with 29 TDs but had 23 INT’s. Far too many costly mistakes. During his era the Cowboys relied on their running game and defense but when critical games came down to White having to make a play bad things usually happened. He’s best remembered for the fumble against San Francisco in the final seconds of the 81 NFC title game.

Although Danny White had a better playoff record I would have to put Romo ahead of him. White was blessed with some terrific teams the first three years he started for the Cowboys. Those were championship rosters. Games weren’t being put on him and the games that were with the exception of the playoff game against Atlanta he didn’t come through. Romo didn’t come through either in those critical games but he had to do so much more than Danny White. Romo never had the teams, primarily the defenses or the coaching that White was blessed with. White wasn’t near the playmaker that Romo was. He wouldn’t have won as many games with the teams Romo had. White and Romo are viewed in a similar light as QBs that just simply couldn’t get it done on the big stage. Both are best remembered for untimely screwup’s. I watched both their careers as they unfolded and in my opinion Romo was clearly better.

One thing that really bothered me about Danny White was he always got the deer in the headlights look every time the Cowboys were in a real big game. I’ll never forget the look in his eyes as the Cowboys were walking onto the field at RFK Stadium in the 82 NFC title game. He looked like he was about to be executed. I knew right then we were done! Tom Landry was pretty much done with him after that game. Gil Brandt talked about the Cowboys offering White and at least two other starters to try and get John Elway.

Not trying to crap on Danny White he’s a good guy but he’s the only QB on the list who lost their job on the field due to performance. He actually lost it twice. Once to Gary Hogeboom and to Steve Pulluer.

In 1983 Cowboys begin the season 12-2 then lost their final 2 games and first playoff game finishing season in very disappointing fashion. Hogeboom won the starting role to begin the 1984 season .

And Danny regained his starting role from Hogeboom in same season as we missed the playoffs for first time in 10 years finishing 9-7.

In 1985 Danny retained his starting role and won division again with Danny. He went down to season ending injury in 1986 after beginning season 6-2. Cowboys finished 7-9 with 1st losing season in 20 years.

Danny never really recovered. Landry never recovered finishing out his career with 3 straight losing seasons with the likes of Hogeboom and Pueller who never led the Cowboys to the playoffs.

Your portrayal didn’t appear to tell the story accurately.

It's what you want when the game is at the most pressure. The guys heart. I've seen Dak and the passion he gives. Many here hate him for that. Not me. The guy loves the 4th quarter. Right now I take Dak #1.
You must love scared deer in headlights.

3- Don Meredith
4- Danny White
5- Craig Morton
6- Dak Prescott
7- Tony Romo
I don't have an issue with you putting Don, Danny and Craig above Dak and Romo. All 3 of those guys either made it to the superbowl or conference finals

That’s a poor characterization . The 49er championship loss is remembered for the Catch.

The fumble on the ensuing possession with seconds running out was a last ditch effort to miraculously come back. It was unfortunate much like the interception made to end the Giants playoff game in 2007 with Romo.

It was an awful loss for the Cowboys. No doubt our best team in 80’s. But most don’t even recall Danny’s fumble while scrambling out of the pocket which was around midfield with no guarantee we get into field position for a last second FG attempt.

I’ve never heard his career defined by that play. Another poor attempt at bashing Danny.

Danny finished his career leading almost all Cowboys passing records. The ones Romo were breaking.
