Zeke in my opinion, is without a doubt the team's best player. Highly productive, highly durable (never missed a game due to an injury). Opposing teams game plan to shut him down.

Last year was the first season, he legitimately lost the rushing title, finishing with over 1,300 yards and 12 td's. Many will argue his holdout affected his play early on, no matter, it will fuel his motivation for this upcoming season.

Zeke is the most balance RB in the entire league, he doesn't have a weakness on the field, but he has been vastly underused as a receiver by the former coaching staff. We have seen what he can do in space and he is deadly on screens passes. MM and is WCO will incorporate Zeke far more in the team's passing game. We are going to finally see the Zeke Elliot at his full potential. He has a LaDanian Tomlinson type of ceiling as an all-around back. The return of the zbs and a new RB coach who oversaw Gurley's success in it, will only help Zeke get better. In my opinion, he is going to have a monster season!!

Yes great OL but when you have 7 to 8 defensive players playing the run vs 5 OL that makes running the ball damn hard. Cowboys must be less predictable and in doing so those break away runs will happen more often, right now Zeke has to fight for a lot of yards he gets, get those defenders backing off those big runs will happen more often

Zeke has declined since his big pay day. I don't see him having an MVP season. Nor do I think he's "the team's best player". There's no such thing unless one player is the "best" at all positions.

I'm a Zeke fan.
I originally called him an "Ewok".
It was intended as a term of endearment.
Like a nickname a father gives a son.
However, that nickname was hijacked and now means something very
different on this board.

I wanted him on the team 2 years before he was even eligible to draft.
As @cern mentioned, he's a chain moving machine.

RBs usually don't win MVP awards. It takes insanely gaudy statistical seasons
for one to win it. It turned into a QB award years ago.

I look for his touches to decrease early, but he could very well "take over" for the
playoff run. (re: John Riggins and Jerome Bettis)

Imagine what Zeke could add to our offense if the defense had to deal with a strong arm back there?
Mama mia we would be unstoppable!!

It's very possible the passing offense takes the next step, the addition of Jarwin/Lamb potentially can be better and Garrett is no longer watching over Moore as a play caller.

Dak is the best player and MVP of team. If you are looking at it objectively. Zeke is probably top 7 at this position I can agree on that.

Please tell me who is the six better backs in front of him?

This is very good stuff and no argument from me. I think Zeke has been used mostly as a safety valve for for Dak in the passing game. He most certainly is underutilized in the real passing game. He needs more drag routes and seam routes similar to what a good TE would get. He has really good hands.

My only concern is it seems that he has lost some of the speed and explosion he had in his rookie year. This is causing him to get pounded more by bigger bodies. I hope there can be more design plays to spring him. The Garrett offense was so plain jane with interior runs and sweeps. I think some of the pressure will be off him if Lamb starts the season hot and Jarwin has a couple of big games. (yeah, that's a big wish list). Less focus on Zeke, more crafty run play designs/calls = possible monster year. My fingers are crossed on all this.

disclaimer: I wrote this after reading the OP and have now gone back and read other's posts. Sorry for the redundancy but it seems we all have seen similar issues. Also, if Zeke's attitude is right we could see a step up in his game. He has got to be that 2016 Zeke.

Another response was about losing his explosiveness. It's a fair argument to make. He is still young, you would think not too much wear and tear on his body. We can just speculate at this point, but it is something to watch.

Whole lot of opinion, whole lot wrong, very little facts.

It based on his production rushing the football which he is elite, now add the fact that the wco involves the RB to be heavily involved in the passing game, he has potentially to have his best season yet.

I don't know how you can look around a league that has the likes of Christian McCaffrey in it and call Zeke the "most balanced RB." He's been a mediocre receiver throughout his time in Dallas: a handful of big plays on screen passes doesn't change that. Sure, you can argue that they misused him and there's an incredible McCaffrey-esque receiver to be unleashed there, but I won't believe it until I see it on the field.

Zeke is really good at what he is: he's a durable, powerful runner who almost never gets stuffed, and by all accounts a solid pass-protector. But he hasn't been explosive (meaning breakaway runs) in a while and there's no real evidence that he's an elite receiving threat among RBs.

Zeke has never been a big part of the team's passing offense by design. He is considered one of the best back's in protection, basically used as more as a safety value. In a larger role, he has the potential to become a legitimate weapon in that area. Have we seen that yet, not really, but coming into the league that was suppose to be one of his strengths.

In that game Zeke ran for 117 yards and 2 TD's 4.88 yards per carry.

Probably his best game of the year, but I don't call that unstoppable. Both his TD's were 1 yard and 3 yards.
